Ended up with another 5w deuce project to finish along with my paint/body buds for a customer. Gonna be full fendered, hood, unchopped, graffiti yella with black tuck n roll guts. SB chevy, 700R, American 5 spokes.
Customer going back and forth on motor/trans color to go with the yellow paint. Figure I'd put it out there on what color you hambers think the powertrain should be painted. thx

Be done with it and paint it yellow since the frame will match the body anyway. No arguments? Plant the seed and empower the owner to make the final decision, so there's no comeback on you when he or his friends change their mind about the colour. ;)

  5. I paint all my motors black. Been paintin' them that color since orange was still popular. Black really makes the chrome and aluminum really stand out and the leaks don't show either.

nothing I hate more in a car than a yellow block and heads, regardless of the motor. SBC's should be painted orange or black. paint them green if you put fake Olds valve covers on them, or dark blue if you choose to fake a Caddy

Yellow and red ,no . Two hot colours don't work together.
If you go black , it's like a tuxedo ,sharp and smart and you can't go wrong.

  14. I'm a big fan of Model A, Ford green.
It's so dark, that most think it's black, and it's different.
