A special thanks to the Indy Road Rockets and the Indy Hi Winders for putting on the Indianapolis World of Wheels last weekend. The Road Rocket section " Motorama 1962" was the place to be for us for sure !!! 125 cars , all pre 1962 and 99.9% driven to the show (rain or shine). No stantions, ropes or barriers. Drive thru entry ( thanks to the Roadrockets girls) and leaving was , key on drive it out!!! Couldnt make it any easier!! We " Bubbas Hot Rod Shop" won best club display and some cash!! Lots of pics have been posted but these tell it all. I call it "Bubba World" , It seemed we were back in the late 50's in our own little world, glass blocks in the old brick walls , the old repair shop building ( functional part of the Newport Annual Hillclimb). Lots of friends with the cars we all love and a very relaxed enviroment to say the least. We watch one guy walk by with his girlfriend etc , and open voodochilis 56 chevy car door , sit down , close the door and the girl take his picture , he then got out and asked her ( how did i look) ? I put quite a few kids in the Bonneville truck for pics and a few moms and dads . This is the way ALL shows should be !!!! Looking forward to next year.... Not one person asked for the free moon pie !
Looks like a neat scene, wish I would have made it out. I would have asked for a free moon pie, you know that! Will I see you at Detroit?
No i dont think any of us here are going North, some are heading for Louisville this weekend though. I might go down sunday??
Cool scene and spectators dug it. I don't' know how many times a family, or passers by would just stop and hang out at the picnic table under the awning. Kids really liked the stickers. Needless to say, lot's of folks had a great time at Bubba's over the weekend.
Great time...everything worked out nice, if anyone didnt get the chance to go to the show, well you missed out on a great weekend, it was a walk back in time...
That just looks like a really cool setup, I am really wishing I lived a little farther south from here. HEHEHE
Looks great! It sounds like the Indy WOW organizers were much more willing to work with you than the Chicago schmucks were. I gotta say that getting into someone else's car without permission is pretty rude though.
