Ok, I know this a little bit of a spam but it might benefit someone here.
I recently sold my BMW R50 to someone in Georgia. A friend of mine is transporting it, via his van, down there. The buyer is paying him.
He told me that he would like to do more of this. He is retired and single so he has the time. He's looking into going into the transport business, flat bed truck and all, but he'd like to do a little smaller stuff first. So if someone needs a bike hauled he is very interested. He would like to stay around the Michigan area for now (Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin areas). His name is Randy and you can call him at 989-686-1595 for a quote. I'm not making a dime off of this. I just thought someone might be able to use his services.
The beauty of this is there's no crating fees, drop off to frieght lines or any of that. This is door-to-door service.

thanks, this is good stuff to know. I put this in my favorite threads so I can refer back to it if something comes up. I'm sure he won't have trouble finding business with ebay and cycletrader and all.

  3. he might check out the competition... forward air will do a bike coast to coast for $350 and provide a crate.

  4. Sounds good I am three hours from nearest airport to use forward air would be more difficult on my end and maybe on the buyers[or sellers] end too.

That was the similar situation with my buyer. He lives in a remote part of GA., 100 miles from airport and he's recouping from some surgery. He liked the door-to-door service.
