Hey Jesse, not all Canadians are like "that one".Would you appreciate or criticize the ride i've worked on the last 6 yrs.At least for a v-twin it ran hard,6.70s @ 206 mph.160cu PRP on 98% nitro.And yes it was from the most prestigious m/c in the world!

This was my 02 Road King. Thats my youngest son ready to borrow it for a weekend. I took a couple of road trips on it. Just packed my stuff up and took off by myself. First trip from Seattle down the pacific coast. Cut across to Vegas, over and around the Grand Canyon. Up through Salt Lake City, Bonneville and back up to home. Second trip, Seattle to Maine, down the east coast past DC and cut back across the middle of the country home. Met a ton of cool people on those trips. Rode with ricers, wingers, and Harley guys, even hooked up with some Europeans doing a US tour. All kinds of people from all walks of life, riding what they liked to ride. Nobody gave a rip what you were on. It was all about being out on the road having a good time on our bikes.

I remember my friends telling me I was crazy taking off by myself. They were sure I would run into a biker gang and get my bike ripped off, probably kill me and toss me in a ditch. I did meet up with a group of three bikers wearing their colors. We all pulled into a Burger King at the same time. They invited me to have lunch with em. We had lunch, shot the shit. After lunch took off and rode for a couple of hours. Eventually they peeled off and headed north and I kept going west. They didnt shoot me even once. I highly recommend a cross country road trip for those that can find the time.

Hatch you're my kinda scooter bumb, rain or shine cold or hot in thw wind is in friend. Like the old Limey BTW, I was rideing rat bikes long before there was any such a thing as a rat rod.

Damn I can't believe I said the rat word.

 

Looks good, classic. I like the vintage coil cover and grasshopper, or was that called a mousetrap, I can't remember. Do they repop those parts now? What is the round thing on the side of the oil tank?

The coil cover is a Paughco reproduction "Bird" cover. I mounted the coil off of the top motor mount and mounted my ignition switch and dimmer switch in the top of the cover. There is also a terminal block under the cover for the wiring.
The oil tank is a Paughco (yea, I'm a dealer) horseshoe tank, and the round thing is a built in spin on filter.
The chrome mousetrap is something I had laying around since the 70's when we all pulled them off for the latest setup, a mousetrap eleminator kit. It's about the only thing on the motorcycle that doesn't really need to be there and it does make the clutch easier to pull. Besides that, it's kinda neat to watch when you pull the clutch. I think V-Twin repops them, but I'm not sure.

Funny you should say this, considering most of the "american" bikes are made of a majority of JAPANESE parts.

But oh well... Harleys are great. The road wouldn't be as fun if everyone had performance... right?
