Can you guys post some pics of vintage bikes for me, or vintage STYLE like some of Cole's stuff (Cole are you out there?) especially bobber style... i'm still working on my super-secret bikey project and I need more inspiration and idears...... thanks!!
I hope this is what you were looking for... I took this pic at a local "Bike Night" at Quaker Steak and Lube. Pic #1...
That's pretty cool.. I like ones w/the FAT rear whitewall and blackwall tires in front.. I don't like the newer radial sporty-bikey tires though.. I'm thinking of tires like you would see on a WLA Harley or something.. at least on the BACK.. sorta skinny up front.. While I'm on the subject... is there a true definition of "bobber" I mean.. I'm thinking, no front fender, bobbed REAR fender, single seat, low/small handlebars... no mufflers just straight pipes.. am I off base here.. ? Basically, I'm mid-project.. OK I'm 3/4 project.. and I'm changine the whole damn thing. Again.
Here's a bike a friend of mine built. Seems like it's in the style you're looking for, although perhaps it has too much fender. I like it.
TinyElvis, I posted a few of my bikes in my intro last month, you can also check some of my bikes out on my site... (see my sig below). Let me know if there's any parts and shit that you are looking for...

tinyelvis, A bobber was the name given to the bikes that were being built after the soldiers came back from ww2. They were basicly the first "choppers", but were purpose built. They would strip off parts that were deemed unecessary, as these bikes were offened ridden to a race, raced, then ridden back home. A common "bobber" will have a single, saddle seat. Will not have a front fender, The front tire is usually a 19" or 18" tire. The front forks are not extended, and if you want to really get period correct, a lot of the parts will be drilled out. A lot of the bikes ran a front tire that was almost as wide as the rear as these bikes were really designed to race in various events on and off road.
Here's EJ Potter, the Michigan Madman, on a SBC-powered bike. Not a bobber, strictly speaking, but it still has "character".
nice Beem Em, Badpat. I get all jealous when I see the big tanks. both of my R60's have the dinky tank with the toolbox on the side. I'll never get tired of looking at this bike:
I 've started to strip my knuckle down...should be a bobber next spring.......had it this way for 20 years, time for a change... CT.
I love that copper color, I am thinking something along those lines for my '49 - have you got any other pics of that bike??
