Hey Guys, do I know what I'm doing? Nope! I've always been a fan of the HAMB but never got involved... until now! My name is Neko and I'm a sucker for the artwork that follows hot rod culture. A big part of goin to shows is seeing all the artwork and well, since we know how shows have been going... I thought it would be kool to share art and stories from yer collections or what yer diggin on. I'll start pushin but once it starts, make sure to hop in!
This is a weirdo sweater painted by Ed Roth around 1958 when he was still at the Crazy Painters shop with Tom Kelly and Bud "The Baron" Crozier. I received this sweater from the original owner who after viewing on of the little pages ads; called in and spoke with Ed about getting a sweater. 4 of his friends also went in on getting weirdo shirts from the Crazy Painters. They wanted to look like they were apart of a SOCAL car club and freak out their Arizona locals when they cruised the streets. Roth had free will to do whatever he saw fit and this is what came of it. All of the sweaters had different names on the arms Roth had given them. This one reads "Crab Meat" with some primitive flies. Note the pin striped snot and hand gesture
I've always wanted a black, full fendered, roadster pick up and then one day Von Franco built me one! Still working on getting it back and moving under its own power!
Welcome to the H.A.M.B. great artwork. No offense Niko but when you type in all caps like that people think you’re shouting. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
