Has anybody tried this or know of a bell housing/adapter plate that will make this work?

What is the difference between the GM and Ford versions of the TKO 600? If it is just input shaft length and spline count, then you probably just have to get a GM clutch disc and throwout bearing and most likely a custom made pilot bushing to fit the Ford Crankshaft. I think the bellhousing patterns are the same, so a Ford-TKO bellhousing will work, just watch the input shaft depth.

Where are you ? Try this # .... D9CZ-6392-C That's the number I have, for an older Evilbayed piece I sold. Just happen to have the original invoice on my desk ... in case the tax man tries to reconnoiter my account proceeds from garage clean out. Anyways, I bought mine from Standard Transmission and Gear in Fort Worth Texas circa 2004. Pretty sure that's the number you need, but do check to make sure. Can't remember if it was Cleveland specific, nor do I know if the families matter.

It needs to be a "Muncie" type pattern to SBF. The only option that I have found is a Quicktime housing. I was just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has done this.

If it had the Ford pattern, its a cheap Summit solution.

    Thanks

Doh' !! Brain fart. Completely overlooked the large GM in that ***le. Apologies. I've seen the Ford Tremecs in Chevy, but no ... not the other way. Hmmm ... besides input shaft and retainer being different ... I'm guessing you already went there ... in so far as swapping items ? D & D, Modern Driveline, MMR are some Ford oriented companies out there. Probably called them too. Sorry sir. Good luck with this.

All good Folks and thank you! My understanding is that Quicktime is the best way to accomplish the GM TKO to SBF. Not to say an input shaft couldn't be swapped and the mounts drilled in another position (which I think can be done) to fit a Ford bell. However, running the risk of destroying a perfect trans by piloting into it is not worth it... got a screaming deal on the trans + goodies and, in the big picture, can afford the added expense of the adapter housing.

Thanks again... this is a great site

The Ford and GM Tremec TKO casings are multi-drilled for Ford & GM, only the GM input is shorter [same spline].
Just buy a ford input shaft and swap it [it can slide out the front]
    Then use a Ford Bellhousing

I run a GM TKO600 behind my SBF in my race car [ the car originally had a BW ST10 as a controlled part, and the Bellhousing is also a controlled part for the rules]

Thanks man. That is the info I was looking for. I started looking into doing that, but gave in and bought a Quicktime housing.

I'll look further into what you said and thanks for the input
