I think I'm going to scrap the 6v system on my 1942 flathead. Only trouble is that my rad fan is mounted to the end of my generator pulley. Can I get an alternator pulley to fit a delco 10si alternator, that will allow me to mount the rad fan to it as well?

  3. My advice would be to find a shop that knows how to rebuild old generators and convert them to 12 volts. Ask here or at some local clubs. Most "rebuilders" just fix the immediate problem and send the unit down the road to fail again shortly. One that has been properly rebuilt should solve your problems unless you have unusual amperage requirements you didn't mention. By the way, what problems are you having with the 6 volt system, maybe they can be easily fixed.

  4. I've had good success simply swapping pulleys. Gen to alt or vise versa.

You could get one of those alternators that look like a generator.
