Technical Mounting Roadster windshield posts

    This may seem like an odd question, but.. when mounting windshield posts that bolt directly to the body as in my 26 RPU should I put a thin rubber gasket under the base of windshield post to protect the new paint on my cowl ?

    I'm just curious what other guys have done, I'm hesitant to just bolt them down with the 3 bolts on each side directly metal to metal on the fresh paint :eek: :D

    Yep, I used an old piece of pond liner cut to shape on mine.

    As you know the roadsters of this era were known for having a lot of "cowl shake".
    I'm guessing your cars' body has better reinforcement than the originals but it would be a shame to see that beautiful blue that that you painted your car in to start getting chafe marks or chipped paint, especially in such a "right up front" location.
