on my 59 chevy I have them (2 switches) mounted in the ash tray with the gauge. I can totally hide them when I park
Gotcha. I guess it depends on how you use your system. I drive fully aired which gives me as much ground clearance as I'm gonna get, so there's really no adjusting to be done with mine. There are some great ideas on this thread for really clean installs. I'm stuck with the acrylic box for now, but it's annoying, not to mention it won't fit under my seat, so I can't hide it or keep my kids from wanting to play with it. Not to mention the acrylic boxes are so damn cheap looking. I had a friend back in the day that I welded an aluminum coffin-shapped switch box for. It was still a switchbox and took up too much space IMO, but at least was different than the same ebay **** in every car with bags.
I have an idea thanks to this thread. I just got a project that im going to bag, The original raidio does not work but it is there. I know I would never use it and was actually wondering what to do with it since it doesnt work, who wants to look at a nonfunctioning raidio? Im gonna see how hard it will be to gut it and use the push ****on selector switches. I figure I can mount the real switch behind them inside the raidio and use a spring loaded rod or something to acuate them. Hey thanks for for the thread it made me really start thinking..............hope i dont get hurt!
