    Guys,

So I have been a little neglectful of my 1st car. Technically it's my 3rd car but it's the one that got me to high school and work back it the 70's and then beyond up through the 90's

A mouse set up shop and pissed all over my newly covered seat, any tips on getting mouse piss smell out? I am afraid it might soaked into the new padding.

I can't be the only one here that has to many cars on top of a rodent problem.

Maybe this will teach me to drive it more.

"Mouse Piss Smell on My New Seat" sounds like a really good name for a rock-and-roll band...

Technically, it's no longer YOUR newly covered seat, it's his.

Good luck getting that smell out. Piss smell has a tendency to come back with serious force on hot and humid days.

Just make sure you step in a pile of fresh dog shit and youll never smell that little mouse. How much piss can a little mouse piss anyway?

  12. I've had good luck with fresh ground coffee if you can close the car up or cover it for a while. Just pour it out of the can, cover or close-up the car, and vacuum it out a few days later. If the vacuum misses a little bit it just still smells good.

I have heard that a couple of apples cut into halves under the seat will help on odors in a car.As the apples dry out they soak up moisture and odor.On the other hand the mouse piss smell may not be such a bad deal .You can let beer farts constantly with out the passengers noticing the smell and complaining...

I was told that Irish Spring soap would keep the mice away. They ate it ,but their piss smelled better.

Don't worry about it. It's one of many things that will happen to your car, that in 50 years will be part of the soul, romance, history and smell of your original Detroit tin, that can't be replicated with a new fiberglass reproduction.

I had one of the little suckers set up home in my heater core on a late model car, must have died in there, I took it all apart and washed it out, still stunk when you turn on. I put some dryer sheets in the car, no more stink. Smells like fresh done laundry now.

Thanks for all the tips, it is alot of piss. I will make sure to go the dog shit route... sounds like the most practical.:D

My buddy had a one night stand once were the gal threw up all over the dash of his mustang and it ended up in the heater assy.
no matter how much cleanup when ever you turned the heater on you could get a wiff.

It becomes someone else's problem eventually

My wife is paying for a new interior for me. She said she doesn't want to sit on a seat that's had rats in it.

The only thing I used to finally get "mouse corpse" stink out of a stored car
was from a car detailing shop.

An airosol bomb that you put in you car ,it releases over a couple of hours in the closed up interior

Let us know if any other method works too,,,bigern

Try a little plastic container with a lid, drill a few holes in the top. Fill it with aquarium charcoal and set it under the seat. You may have to put a little tape on the bottom on the container. It should absorb the smell until it dissipates.

If you know anyone in the HVAC Industry you can get a used Electronic aircleaner. If you power it up in your car with out air blowing through it produces ozone. Leave it in for 24 hours and the odors will go away. It is the same principle used when they are cleaning up homes that had smoke damage from a fire and have the Commerical ozone machines. Also works on cars that smokers owned.
