Not about cars, but one of the things that drives me nuts in the old westerns are that all the buildings in the 'Wild West' are old.
Would they not have all been new structures back then?

You really want to know? If it's possible to be an expert on it, somebody's getting worked up about it.

I hate to say it, but I spent far too long at that website. It was fascinating - probably because I'm a journalism geek.

For real. I had about a hundred tabs open so I wouldn't miss any of the links.

  5. Maybe I missed it, but I’m surprised nobody mentioned the “car in park while driving” mistake. The phrase “Hey, that things in park!” comes out of my mouth every time like some sort of tourett’s syndrome or something. Wife stopped responding to it years ago.

I suppose using a font that was invented in the '70's in a movie scene that's supposed to be in the '40's would irritate a "font guy" as much as using a PT Cruiser to represent a '46 Dodge in the same movie would irritate a "car guy".
But then, I bet the Edith Head (and colleagues) fashion inventions in movies have always irritated clothing historians too.
That Bra that Howard Hughes invented and used on Jane Russell(?) in a Western was a big time continuity error too!

When I was looking at that part of Jane Russel, I wasn't thinking about a bra. That one went past me!

Being a car guy you get to catch little things like that. Stuff that wouldn't even be on most people's radar.

My wife was a first-aid instructor for the Red Cross for years, so she's always pointing out when they're doing CPR wrong, or don't splint a compound fracture in the right way...

It got me thinking how many movies that are just ruined for police officers. I mean how many movies are cop and robber type themes? Tons of them, right? So, just imagine all the stupid shit cops sould point out to you about howthe actors actors and writers are getting it all wrong...

When an movie portaits first aid wrong.. man that is sooo wrong, people might see that and bbelive its the way to do and someone might die just because someone does something wrong, that should be frickings laws for just that part. they should never do something wrong that has to do with first aid... hubcaps here and there etc doesn't kill ya, but wrongly done cpr and such could... heck my granddad might have been alive today if the person next to him had done cpr correct.. which he didn't.... it didn't kill him he was already out but if it had been done correctly it might have saved him....

Best BTTF blooper. In the first movie when Marty jumps in the Delorean to outrun the libyans, they have 3 closeups of the speedo accelerating and decelerating. In the first, look at the odometer, then look at the second closeup, like 20,000 miles difference, then in the third, the mileage is back to the first reading.

If someone comes on here and tries to tell me that KITT wasn't real, or that he had no feelings... there is going to be MAJOR TROUBLE.

Of course he was real. They made him into an android after "Knight Rider" ended and he became principal of a high school. Didn't you ever see "Boy Meets World?"
