So about five years ago I got the urge to build a full fender model A hot rod kinda like an 8vA car with some updates this is the car I started with. It was a running driving botched restoration with many things wrong with it. But the price was right. So like any good project it starts with the right parts such as a 265 small block Chevy, F-1 steering and brakes a 34 Ford wishbone un-split+ axel and a Ford bronco rear-end more to follow tomorrow [IMG]IMG]https://www.jalopyjournal.com/mobile-gallery/acb58768dc0e28b63a07d96b35b90574.jpg[/IMG][IMG][IMG]

Ha! Took me a minute to figure out what you were holding. I thought is was a piece of 1/2 wood! Car must have sagged on that side.

So I am going to skip ahead because any one can take apart a model A. So here goes test fitting the motor and frame construction [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]for the frame I wanted to use a 32 k member but that really wasn't feasible for the transmission I was going to use so I made my own version. More to come

    Something to consider:
For all the strength and bulk of the truck arm style rear suspension, it all concentrates at those two little tie rod end threads. Not to mention the little tie rod ends themselves.

Also, along the same vein, I like your K member but have to ask whether you intend to tie it together with some material across the top? As it is, for its size and bulk, all that ties it now is the bit where the bone socket is. And it's an L section. That's where the twist concentrates.

I'm not telling you what to do, just bringing up something to consider.;)

I like that you've got rear engine mounts, if that's what they are?

[IMG]Got the wheels powered coated [IMG]messing around with a 34 truck shell. For some reason I didn't take time to take pictures of frame painting so skipping ahead I took some time to clamp it all together to see what it will look like when it's done[IMG]also a shot of one of the grater inventions the water pump riser[IMG]and now on to subframe repair the donor frame fresh from the blaster [IMG]and some repair work [IMG]and then some work on the uprights [IMG][IMG]some of the reason we are replacing the sub frame[IMG]more to come

More to come later

looking good, great progress. Be sure to put the trunk on and align the gaps before you get too far with tacking all that rear sheet metal together and I would recommend an X brace when plumb under the package tray. Those bodies tend to flex and move around more than one normally ***umes.

That was one of the pictures I didn't take of how I braced the body and it would have helped for a lot of people who question how to swap a subframe on a model a

[IMG]got the body all put back together and the p***enger side door closes as it should however the driver side needed some work. So we had to add some metal to the b pillar remember kids take measurements before you start and write them down [IMG][IMG]making and installing patch panels [IMG][IMG]getting the fender to fit[IMG]A tip from Sqwablow telling me how Sherwin Williams can color match paint produced a quarter panel that's pretty much the same color now[IMG]got the fire wall painted and the clutch and brake master cylinder mounted [IMG]picked up this sweet seat out of a Superior bodied school bus and then the hunt was on for another witch I found later [IMG][IMG]mounting brackets for the seats[IMG]now we have a place to sit and make motor noise. More to come
