  8. My Dad & Uncle grew up with the Bradley twins, Jon & Tom. They knew him as Uncle John. I just read about this on Jons FB page. I can't help thinking we're losing too many legends.

    From Jons page

Drag Racing Legend John Bradley passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Bradley Campaigned his Fuel Burning Dragster over 60 years.
His machines Ran on Loads of 100% Nitro and had to be started on Alcohol.
    * Bradley knew them all, TV Tommy Ivo, Don Garlits, Mickey Thompson.....
This Record Setting Car is Restored, on display in Don Garlits Hall of Fame Museum Fl.
    R.I.P. John Bradley 11/28/12

Just heard. So sad to hear, my dad raced him many times during the UFRA days, and we have a lot of film of him running with my dad, got to meet him once a couple years ago at the Antique Nationals, but heard so many crazy stories about him.

I'm really sorry to hear about John's passing. He is a genuine legend. I first saw him run that car in the 50's at Morrow Field in Colton. Please accept my condolences for your loss. Jack

Saw him run several times at flathead events.
He was the king of the bullshitters!

  14. He won more races than anyone else, at the Colton Drags. That's cool!

And yet another legend passes. Bradley was to the flatties what Garlits was to the AA/FD's.

Sad news. I first met him and his wife at the Flathead Nationals toward the end of his career. Wish I'd met him sooner. My condolences to his friends and family.

sad to hear, Saw him the first time I went to the drags [1956] . He won top times a lot at Colton. He put away many overheads with his 'Genes Brake Shop Spl' we will miss him.
