Hi Guys I know I am new to this site and I hope I am not offending anyone in any way but it seems like you guys are a group that could help. On the weekend of April the 17th my wife and me will be driving to 1700 miles Houston to participate in the BPMS150 Charity bike ride to to help raise money to try and find a cure for MS. This disease has hit my family close to home 10 years ago my 30 year old sister contracted MS and today is confined to a wheelchair and is a paraplegic. This isn't a sob story, if anything I wish I had my sisters spirit sometimes, I don't know how she does it. So what I am asking is if you feel you can spare any amount of money to support this cause please help. I hope to have a H.A.M.B shirt to wear from the start of the ride to the finish in Austin. Got the support the group as well!! So please follow this link to my online pledge page and do whatever you can http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Bike/TXHBikeEvents?px=5883131&pg=personal&fr_id=10222 All money raised from this ride goes to support the people affected with MS in Texas and hopefully a cure for all Thank you and wish me luck PS and I my be able to attend the roundup to give thanks in person if I ride fast on Sunday ....
MS has affected my family too. My daughter was diagnoised four years ago at age 30. She's one of the lucky ones as she was dianoised after only one outbreak. She has been on the weekly injections as hasn't had any relapses. We keep our finger crossed. She is very active in MS fund raising and for the third year in a row has raised around $8K. We had 53 people at the Boston Walk this past Sunday walking on her team, the "Howard Hoofers." Good luck in your fund raising efforts. They're making great progress towards a cure.
Just tell her to eat nothing but fish chicken fruit vegetables and drink nothing but water and fruit/vegetable juice and also lots of supplements and shell be fine.
Our daughter was diagnosed about fifteen years ago with MS. She is the youngest of three daughters, and the only one that took an interest in cars. She is 34 now, and still helps in the garage when she can. Before she was diagnosed, I would come home from work and she would be out in the garage sanding or working on her truck. After she was stricken with MS, it bothered her to use a DA sander, her hands would go numb and stay that way for days. Several months before her diagnoses, she had written an article for Rod Action Magazine’s “Young ‘N Restless” column; and it was published in February 1995, page 57. Since the article in Rod Action our plans changed, as did our lives. We still work on her truck and it still has some things that we need to do to it. My interest in the garage seemed to go away for several years, it seemed like some of the things that were important to me earlier didn’t seem to be that important anymore. My daughter graduated from college in 2000 and now teaches 8th grade language arts. Every year just before the last day of school she takes her truck to school and gets a cl*** picture with all of her students in and around the truck. She is an inspiration to all that know her. One of the things that I have learned, is that there are a lot more important things in life than some of the petty things people deal with.
My Daughter and Son-in-law rode in the MS150 for several years. A worthy cause we contribute to each year.
Last Sat was the MS walk here in Tacoma......big turnout, great weather for a change. My wife has a "team" and she raised alot of $$$ for the cause. local car club donated a good chunk. She was diagnosed 2 years ago....
Good luck on your ride. I share your fight against MS. My wife was diagnosed with MS about 12 years ago, she has an optimistic outlook on life and has not given up. She promotes and encourages my projects.
Look, I appreciate your concern and input, but this is a DISEASE that is simply not curable with diet. Please check out the MSSociety for updates and treatments.
**** that.I was crippled by it for a month 10 years ago and did what I told ya.I never had any relapses with no meds after 10 spe******ts told me I had a rapidly progressive case.I did the best I could for an off topic post because with major sacrafice and discipline, I did what my personal investigation told me was the best course of action.Everybody dies, has sick relatives and has experienced major losses in life. This is a hot rod and custom message board,a message board full of people that just lost one of its favorite sons, one of us.
