From what I can gather this thing seems to be shot. Can I replace it with just a generic one they're mostly all the same right? I'm not running anything fancy. Thanks
You're on the wrong terminal. Positive terminal to coil tower - spec is 4.5K OHMS Positive terminal to negative terminal - spec is .7 OHMS
To answer the question, yes, you can replace that coil with a "stock" (whatever that is) coil. And no, that type of oil filled can comes in many flavors. I've seen them from 32,000 volts to 48,000 volts and various miliamp outputs. To run a stock engine, without any power adders or high compression, yes, most any coil will work fine. Mike
