MSD Distributor ID?

    Can anyone ID the application for this MSD Distributor...no drive gear like a Mopar part but has a slot rather than a machined down surface at the bottom...Larger GM type body..Thanks for any help...Mac msd1.jpg msd1.jpg msd1.jpg msd2.jpg

    you can use google images to search for pictures of your guesses, to see that they're wrong, before posting the guess here :)

    It is for an 8 ....it looks like Mopar but has a slot instead of a cut down area on the shaft....

    what keeps the shaft from going up from the bottom? normally there is a collar and a pin thru the shaft. I have never seen anything like it

    There looks to be a lock collar, set screw or roll pin is on left side, hard to see.

    Sure it’s MSD and not a cheap knockoff? Pro Comp comes to mind.

    I looked on the MSD website (holley) and looked at every single dist and there was nothing like that, also MSD distributors have a part number on them....

    I tried searching the other way (from the oil pump), looking for something with a tang drive the opposite of normal. Couldn't find anything... closest was VW (kind of...) but not in an 8.

    Old Hilborn pumps had that kind of drive before they moved to hex.

    Where did you inquire the distributor?
    Some of us cut , dice & Machine things to fit our needs,
    Possibly modified to fit a inport
