Just a heads up for this Saturday's picnic. Hwy 47 (Ferry Street) is closed just north of Hwy 10. Construction on the railroad crossing. Detour -from Hwy 10- exit on 7th Av. Go north 1-2 miles and then west on Bunker Lake Blvd. Then south on 47.

It would be nice if MSRA would change the location for the spring picnic. It is a terrible place for the kids and so dusty.:(

Yes, but that would mean looking into a place 6 months or more in advance not 6 weeks like happened this year! The ones in charge of the picnic even had to change the day to Saturday because of it.

    & yes!!!

It's tough to find a spot for 1000 people to sit and eat, and 300-500 cars to park that can be "taken over" that also has everything else. It also needs to be somewhat centrally located for those coming from outside the metro area. It's a large group, and places that can handle that many people are rare, just like options for the banquets.
From what I heard, after last years Friday night picnic, we were asked not to come back to Long Lake Park in New Brighton where several of the picnics were held because of people being disrepectful and tearing up the gr***, and doing burnouts when leaving.

You do realize most of them give at least 10-20 hours of their life per week for you to enjoy every thing your $30 gets you each year. That doesn't include working EVERYDAY ALL WEEKEND to provide you with Back to the 50's. Remember they are volunteers!! If you don't like how it's being run.......RUN FOR THE BOARD!!!!

    RUN FOR THE BOARD?
Just a slight correction; according to the MSRA website, it is now $35/year. I don't want to open a can of worms as to why the dues are going up, so I'll just leave it at that.
