hey guys, weve all seen the plate systems for single or dual 4 barell set ups but what is there availible other then direct port into the manifold if you want to run it on a two 1 or 2 barrel set up? tia tim
A buddy of mine built a VERY quick V8 Pinto back in the 80s, running a 302 with a factory tri-power intake and three Holley two barrels. He used a NOS plate under the center carb only, hooked to a Power-Shot (125hp) system. It hit hard and worked perfectly! There wasn't another true street car in town that could touch it! People said he'd lean out some of the cylinders or burn certain plugs, but that never happened...the car just flat kicked ass! I'd be leery of putting NOS plates under any carb NOT centered over the plenum on a multi-carb manifold (without running one under the center carb(s)!), but using it under the primary carb alone in a tri-power works great. The more high-dollar way to go would be to plumb hard lines with nozzles to each port UNDER the intake manifold...hides it, and keeps the lines from cluttering up the look of your trick induction system.
im thinking of an intake that would be the equvilant of a long cross ram, wih the carbs far apart from each other. run two plates or jsut say screw it and direct plumb it?
I think nitrous should be used on front wheel drive TPI 4banger "rice" cars ONLY! We make horsepressure the old fashioned, traditional way, bigger engines! But if ya gotta use it, flaunt it, don't try to hide it, even put the NOS stickers all over the air dams
Good post Fat Hack - it would be cool as hell to plumb the lines under the manifold and I never would have thought you could just put the plate under the center carb and have it run OK. I'll have to remember that, until now I have just been running the sticker and that really makes me haul.
