Hello, I'm going to be in Muncie Ind from Oct 26-30. My wife is going to some school is insisted on me flying with her because she hates to fly... So I'll be sitting in a hotel room with nothing to do for 5 days. So if anyone lives in or around Muncie and would like to have a beer or something I'd REALLY appreciate it. Thanks -

Muncie used to be the street race city.
They have the Muncie Dragway, that had some bad Saturday night races.
Rent a car and run up to Auburn Ind. ,to see the Auburn Museum. And the Speedway museum in Indy is really worth the drive.

There are a couple museums in Auburn. There is the Kruse ones right off I69 and then there is the Auburn Cord Dusey museum in Auburn. Enough there to keep you ***** for a day.

Definitely try to take in the Speedway museum and check out the track in Indy. If you do that, ask to see the "secret" photography room upstairs. They will let you look through photos from particular eras, etc, like if you dig 1955 for example, or you want to see pictures from your birth year, etc. There are a TON of cool photos and you can then buy copies if you want.

Last year when I was there I went to the James Dean museum. That was kinda neat. I really wish I had the Indian motorcycle sign in front of the old shop James hung out at.

If you are in town on a Wednesday, come by Bubba's Hot Rod shop on Gasoline Alley near the track in Indy. Search under Bubba's and there are threads about projects we've done. Building a '29 RPU now. About 15-20 come and hang out from 5-10 or so.

Yes I planned on going up there again. I've been there twice and still wear my Bubba's jacket. The shop up there is real cool, lot's of neat stuff to see.

As was mentioned, there are really cool car museums all over Indiana. Muncie is less than a hour's drive from Indy too.

Muncie is only a half hour north of Hagerstown, which is where I live and where the chrome shop is. Stop by 8-5:30 M-F and I'll show you some shiny metal. :)

I just got in. I will take you up on your offer Josh. Thanks! If I would have remembered to check this post I would have brought my buick headlight rings and had you dip them.... Oh well.

Sounds good. FYI, on tuesdays and fridays we go out to lunch and close the shop from 12 to 1:30. Even if you brought your headlight rings, it's unlikely there would be enough time to get them done in one day.

I was planning on coming today but the wife needed the rental so I'll come by tomorrow. After posting about the headlight rings I figured it would take a while to do them. I've never chromed before but I've seen them dip C-5 landing gear, that was pretty neat. Can't wait to actually learn how you do it. I'll call ya tomorrow morning.

Thanks for letting me come by Josh. It was neat to see all the chrome process. Looks like a lot of work lol.

No probem. I did forget to show you the polishing shop. It was the building I came out of to meet you. A handful of oversized belt sanders, some tables, and lots of dust. And the air compresor and sandblasting station.

That's ok. You guys looked pretty busy and I didn't want to take up all your time. At least I know how much *** is going to hurt after I rechrome the buick hehe...
