Im building a’32 Ford roadster with a 283 and Muncie 4-speed. I three the bench seat in the car the other day only to find the hurst shifter rubbing on my leg. Is there a shifter that has an offset to the right that would move the shifter away from my leg? Thanks
There's umpti-zillion different shift levers available , or you can heat & bend , cut& weld or fab your own .
I used this one for my roadster, had a little more offset than I needed so remedied it by sectioning about an inch out of it and rewelding it. Yes, they have gotten crazy $$$! https://fpautoparts.com/-Performanc...le-Competition-Plus-Shifter-Stick-HUR-5384084 This has much less offset and is somewhat less $$$. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hurst-5386836-Replacement-Comp-Plus-Stick,336848.html
The amount you took out is about the amount I added. Then made a short lever from 5 /16 SS flat stock
Here is a link to the Hurst Catalogue. Just scroll to page 45 and you will see all handles with measurements. Hurst Shifters Performance Transmission Parts Catalog
The stick shown definitely misses your leg. This one’s in my sons 40 Chevrolet with the GMC 6 back a bit.
