"You CAN have an opinion...it just happens to be an unpopular one...something you have to be prepared for when you voice an opinion. You stated your opinion and now you're gonna hear other people's opinions. We just shouldn't take each other's views so personally."

I never take anything on here too serious to be honest (I do bitch about some stuff I see on here to freinds but ah well...). I really do not care if my opinion is popular or not so it really is no biggie.

It's like that whole thing with the cut down A I posted and still lives. And things that really get me fired up is no matter if I like that car or not I hate that guy claiming he built it.

Not to be a butt kisser but I have always like your stuff, McPhails stuff, Robert Williams stuff, Hamiltons stuff, and many other peoples work. In fact, I like it a lot.

I looked up Al's car because I had not seen what he was talking about. The work you did on it is
really cool...but I will be honest and say I don't get real thrilled about it being on a car that much. But your work is great and I guess I am a "fan" for a lack of a better word.

Al is happy with it, and that is fine. I like his car overall and will leave it at that.

I think I may have worn out my stir stick already Rashy...

Also, I think it's stupid to paint "Morals" on cars. Hell, not enough people have them anymore to worry about anyway. I'm gonna paint, "Thow shall not covet thy neighbors shop" on the back of the 41.

I see what you're doing here lately...

    The left coast has Marcus,

    The right coast has Draglinks,

You're just trying to evenly distribute the drama queen network.

    I can dig it man.

I mean, if a hurricane took out Draglinks and an earthquake swallowed up Marcus....

Well I do believe the HAMB would not be able to continue...

    Thanks for thinking ahead!!!

I told you I had something up my sleeve that would really stir up some shit. [IMG]

I can hear them coming down the hall already... </font>

  3. Well...thanks for the compliment. Rashy...whatcha got up your sleeve!?!?

Merc50, I think you should post each of the PM's you are getting and the person name that is saying it. Sounds like they are afraid to state their opinion in the open.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, I guess I could have done that but I deleted them as I read them...and only one of them is somebody that really posts alot on here and that I knew right off the bat. One other guy was just defending the skater thing and one was I guess from a lurker or something because I don't recall ever seeing him before...he was an idiot and I did not reply to him. He told me I must have been beat up by skaters or something.

Overall, doing that would probably not be a very cool thing to do but it might have been interesting...nah, even I am not that much or a jerk [IMG]

Last time I got baited into responding to a PM/EMAIL type thing I should have never done it...K&amp;R will remember what I am talking about.

It's just a style. Some are cute, some suck, some add to the car, some don't. I know guys who've been doing it since the 50's. It has NOTHING to do with JJ. Contrary to what some of you believe, the world does not move every time JJ does. [IMG]

    2 of my favorites.
A very slick silver ultra smooth 32 goldchainer style hiboy. Had BILLIT BULLET on it. [IMG]

Betty Boop on a black 34 coupe with her dog Tige pulling on her bikini bottom just like the old coppertone commercial.

I also see lots of Bomber nose art and don't see anything wrong with that either. Some adds to the ride, some detracts. I don't think it's any different than the Mr. Horsepower or Moon Eyes on lots of rides.

It's just individual styles folks, and it can be painted over. Nothing to get worked up about. I do think the art should fit the car tho. [IMG]

Oh, and make sure the airbrushed girl on the hood isn't cross eyed with lopsided boobs.

Stickers sometimes get me. Anyone besides me notice the 68 Camaro at speed week this year with the 62 and 63 Bonneville Nationals stickers in the back window?
Here's another hint. Stick with one cam company or oil company on your pro street racecar wannabe. Nobody's gonna buy that you're running Isky, Crower and Engle cams with Slick 50 and Castrol in your jacked up, tubbed midsize 75 4 door with the 307 2 barrel smogger motor. [IMG]

Sorry, gotta do it. Here's a theme car for ya.

This wasn't about going up to a guy &amp; saying his car sucks becuz it has something I don't like on it. It was about who liked it &amp; who didn't. You need to chill out.

Oh yeah, I'm a Southside boy- I ain't skeered of no low-rider driver. Harlandale was full of 'em.

  12. that yellow deck lid is a perfect example of what's wrong with street rodding. or is it just street rodders?

  13. aawww, c'mon Duece...lookit how CUTE Tweety looks! [IMG] [IMG] blecch.

  14. I wish I had $2 for every Tweety I painted on yellow Corvettes, Roadrunners, vans, pick ups and Big Rigs in the past. The things ya do to pay the rent. [IMG] [IMG]

Byron, is this what you are talking about? This is from the Springfield Mass Eastern States Nationals a couple months ago.
Also, a couple months back up in northern Vermont, I saw a yellow 55ish Ford Pickup with the words "Gwandma and Gwandpa's Twuck" painted on the tailgate. Not sure if there was a tweety bird or not. I didn't know whether to laugh or puke, so I did both.

Along these same lines, and 67 Imp can verify, the worst offender of this variety I have ever seen was in 1979 the year I started driving. I saw this ugly green Dodge Dart with a picture of this bald black guy who kinda looked like Isaac Hayes (of Shaft fame) painted on the drivers front door, totally stock car. My first thought was " Who the fuck would paint that guys picture on a car?" Then I looked at the driver saw and it was him ! True story.

My personal choice would be Selena with "In Her Loving Memory" painted on it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Was actually thinking of telling that story when this post came up but I figured people just could not even get a close visual without actually seeing it.

It was the most crazy looking thing I ever saw. It was sort of a side profile and looked pretty good for a self portrate till you saw the eyes. They both faced you and were just white circles with with black dots in them.

I just always got the idea he was into voodoo or some wacked out stuff.

The guy actually painted portraits and he was a rolling advertisement.

It did'nt really make me want to have mine done.

Little did I know what my jackass-ish attempt at humor and sarcasim would spawn..I ask for everyones forgivness. That means those that I have offended and those who had to live through seeing some of these last pics.

I have seen a model A with that US Male thing on it. It was orange and Elvis was airbrushed life like and all that...:p

BTW Phil, you should know one of my major reasons for this right off the bat...remember my 49 I told you about and what it looks like today...*shudder.*

Let us have this one die now... [IMG]

My neighbor had a tubbed Camaro in high school with "Tachin' it to the limit" lettered above the back bumper. He and his girlfriend (now wife of 15 years) still have the matching satin jackets. He endures much shit about it, even today.

I bought a roadrunner from a guy in the early 70's. "Black Assasin" was lettered on the quarters. My mother made me spray bomb some primer on it as soon as I got it home. She was afraid it was going to start a riot.

A little nose art type stuff can be cool but those big airbrushed murals have always sucked, even when it was all the rage. They were spawned out of the most tasteless era in recorded history when pimped out vans were the shit. And now that butt fugly table cloth shit is coming back too.

i had a piece of shit 4 door '69 impala in high school. i spray painted "montezumas revenge" on the trunk lid! that car was a blast! ran 165-15 tires on it cause they were free. popped one at 3 in the morning once and drove it home about 8 miles across town. by the time i got home all that was left were the beads! it was fun doing burnouts with the sparks flying! that hunk of shit would do burnouts for as long as you held the throttle with those tires!
