Similar to my 37 - it has had a Mustang II front end using stock ford parts except for the tension rods which were reworked to be Compression rods for many years. it has seen something like 40 states, Power Tour and who knows where else. No problems yet. It has outlasted two rear ends, one trans and a motor!
Had power MII in my 40 and that baby you could get out on the highway and cruz at 75 and 80 mph comfortably. And I am putting a non power MII under my 36 that I am doing right now.Actually using a stock ford cross member is better if you can work it,I personally like using stock upper and lower control arms with the struts :vs The xtra wide lower tubeular control arms.Chas.Eng. kit is really as easy as they come.
You guys are mirroring what I have known for a long time with these, that the stock strut rods are really the way to go. So rarely are the strut eliminator type lower arms ever mounted in a double shear at the rear mounts. They just don't hold up well to the daily rigors of driving everywhere. Between my own stuff and helping out around El Polacko's shop, I have seen many times the rear edge of aftermarket crossmembers blown out from being overstressed during braking and road hazzard situations with out double shear mounting or original type strut rods.
