Mustang 4.0L in a 1940 Ford

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hotrod40coupe, Apr 16, 2008.

  1. I knew a guy one time that had a Model A rod and had a 4 cylinder Nissan motor in it. Geeeeze, now that was goofy! I mean you could put a late model EFI V-8 and probably get the mileage that a 6 cyl would do. Would really do it if a rice burner V-8 but damn, would he hard for me to do. I mean I can't even stand Fords with Chevy motors in them .. hey but to each his own .. Including you .... !!

Gee, I remember back in the 70's when gas was hitting close to a doller a gallon and all these guys started putting V6's in their hot rods. Almost all of them regretted doing so after we all got use to paying the price, killed their resale value. Might think of how much gas you could buy with the lost of value if you ever decide to sell it. Besides, IMHO you will not get any better milage running a 4.0 jn a truck then a propely set up V8.
