Hey guys, I got a question about the Mustang II front ends and what motors they are designed for. I have heard they are designed for a sb chevy because the stearing rack gets in the way of the oil pan of say a 302. Is this true? Ive got a shoebox minus a motor with this front end in it already when I aquired it and want to keep a ford mill in it. I dont have a mock up ford to answer my question. Anybody have any insight on this? Thanks in advanced!!! Fred
I am not sure what year 302 you are using, but most people just find an oil pan from a truck (with a 302) which should be lower towards the cab and it should clear in the front. Good luck! Kathy
I have a Ford F E engine in my 51 F-1, been that way for 150K miles. Did the brakes once (11in rotor) and the springs are startin to sag. Use ureathane bushings in struts (off road shops stock them cheaper than stock. K-MEMBER had a 460 in his! I think they will handle most anything.........OLDBEET
I believe Ford Racing Parts sells this as a kit now with the pan, pickuptube and the bolt i used a rear sump Bronco oil pan with mine im running a 302
