I got my hands on a 93 Cobra t5 to put behind the 216 in my 51 pickup. I plan to build a "peppy" 235 in the future, but that is another project. As of now, I am trying to get the setup right with the bellhousing and ******. My question is the obvious one of is the Ford bolt pattern the same as the Chevy or do I have to have a specific adapter for that transmission? And, I would like to run the mechanical clutch setup on the truck now..... has anyone used this setup?

No, the bolt patterns and input collar diameters are different. If the trans. is electric speedo only, then that will be an issue also.
If the input shaft is long enough, an adapter plate could be made to mount the two together. A slightly longer pilot bushing is also available, if needed, as it is the same as a small block V8. I do not know offhand if such a plate is being made by anyone, but I have been working on designing one, but it's not ready for sale yet.

Why start with the wrong stuff?
Pick up a T-5 out of a Chevy and it's practically bolt in.
Too bad you're not closer, I just took my 235/T-5 combo out of my '54 and replaced it with a 350 World Cl*** T-5...

Only the WC versions from '93-up had the Ford pattern in S10's.

Some Astro vans also used the Ford pattern, but I don't know what years yet...

If you need the forward shifter location, cable driven speedo, and Chevy bolt pattern, then you need to be looking for a '83-89 S10 or Astro van, but be aware that some were electric speedo, so look before buying. Also look at the Astro van to make sure its the right bolt pattern. Most of these early S10 T5's had the 4.03 first gear as well, which isn't ideal, but its not the end of the world either.

If the rear shifter location will work for you, then any Camaro T5 will work. These can swap from electric to cable, the S10 can't without a tailhousing swap. The gearing is better on the Camaro also.

There's a couple threads about adapting the T5 to the Chevy inliner - check the tech link in my sig for at least one good one.

I believe all GM WC T5 from '93 up are Ford pattern, to include the V6 Camaro/Firebird. I think '93 was a transition year for GM, so you could get either.

If S10 T5 shopping, see the link in my sig - lots of tips in there.
