I have the T5 and I have the flatty, now I'm trying to find info on how this is done. It's not the same as the Chevy S10 swap so if you can help or have info/links strictly on the Mustang swap it would be a very big help.
If you have a bellhousing that bolts the toploader pattern Ford transmission (64-early 80's) either of these should help put you in the right place. http://www.safepay.net/cgi-bin/shop...xt&category=Adapter***erchant=moderndriveline http://www.campbellgeartech.com/

Here's my tech for a Camaro T5 (Ford bolt pattern though) behind my 59 AB. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189368 I'm also running a Mustang diaphragm pressure plate and modern throw out bearing. It's so smooth and easy to disengage the clutch.
Mustang transmission bolt pattern is different than the SBC!! Try using the engine block plate adapter that Speedway makes (to mate a C-4 to flathead) that will allow you to bolt up the T-5 using the stock T-5 bellhousing. May be able to use the starter adater parts too. Check with Speedways Tec guys and see what they say.
SBC used Ford bolt pattern on the T5 trans in mid-90s up. You can't use the search feature because the shortest character string is 4 letters. (you can use Google, but it's not the easiest to do). The best bet is to look through the Tech Archives - what you'll find is this: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169265 This is also being discussed right now here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189650 Inside that thread, Modernbeat tells you everything you need to know about putting a Mustang T5 behind an 8BA flatty...
