I agree... I would like to bring the back down to where the white wall is right at the fender line. Using the parallel spring set up is one of my only regrets on the build. I may change it up next winter and use reinforced 36 radius rods and a transverse spring. I am hoping the springs will flatten out lower it an inch or 2.

No, it is not finished. I still have a bunch of details to sort out. The hood is sitting in the basement and will go back on eventually. But not until I get the motor fine tuned.

Thanks! Thats a big complement. Your 39 was a big inspiration for my project.

  8. Your car is dead nuts perfect - personally the rear height isn't too bad but are you using gas shocks? If so, I'd swap them out for the non-gas version - my 40 coupe has the same problem and with the non-gas shocks it does come down nicely. But, I did have to install a sway bar in mine with my rear tires - you will not have to as they are alot skinnier than mine. Again, real nice ride you have there!

I've always loved that Riv, and this '36 is now up there too. I love it.

What can I say that hasn't been said. Love the color, stance, and I love the quality that shows at every angle. Motivational, to say the least. Jay

'36 looks great. Looking forward to seeing more of it, and the '35 cabriolet.

Great looking car. So is it possible that this is the same '36 I saw at the Hunnert Car Pileup this past October? I saw one very similar snake through the fairgrounds, but never got up close on it.

Looks great Dan! It has turned out to be one of my favorite 5 windows.

Are you going to paint the sides of the grille blue like it is supposed to be? Looks like you're having some funky alignment issues with the hood ornament and the grille as well. Are you going to put the grille stainless back on too?

  21. Badass! Wouldn't change a thing if I could. I really dig the wheel/tire combo on dad's '35. Keep up the great work. Classy.

    Thanks Chad,

The grille is a chunk of shit Argentina chrome repop that don't fit worth a damn. I am on the hunt for an original grille, but I'm not having much luck finding a nice paintable grille. I have nice stainless to put on it. Any chance you have a grille laying around you would part with?

Looks great Dan! If it doesn't settle enough for you over the summer, you can probably de-arch the rear springs a little. There is a 40 p/u running around here that I looked at last summer that has the CE parallel springs that he de-arched quite a bit. I'll have to look for the pics, but it was sitting right and I think he did it without lowering blocks.

    Ah, that explains it.

We did, but we keep buying cars to put them on! :D

I'll see what I can find.

    Chris, yes, same car.
