Thanks for all the love! I am going to try to get it mostly done (roughly of course) this weekend. After I hit Billetproof on Sat morning.

Well I had a full day! Went to Billetproof for a few hours this morning, checked it out and then headed back to the shop to put some more time in on the car. Got the driver's side pretty much nailed. Have to adjust the front of the door frame a little tomorrow morning and then fill a bunch of stuff in on the inside.

Managed to get another 4 hours in on the car this morning. Unfortunately I spent it re-doing all the same stuff I did yesterday... Took a look from the back of the car and found that the B-Pillar was bowed out. The lean angle looked OK, but it was no good. So I cut and tacked, cut and tacked, and on and on until I got it all working right again. DAMN, I hate doing things twice....

This morning, I cut out the drivers door pillar again and fixed it for hopefully the last time. I am going to be in lovely Bakersfield all weekend for a buddy's birthday, so I am going to hammer on this every morning to try and get as much done as possible. Mid October sounds good to me!

Cool that you are on yours again. How long since you started the build? What's your goal for completion (Mine is always "yesterday")

Well, today I cut the drivers b pillar out AGAIN...ARGGGG...I am good this time, at least until I get there tomorrow and decide I don't like it...

Got it blown off, outside and laid the hood back on. I hadn't seen it with the hood in months. I was diggin it!

Yeah...I left my welder buddy alone in the back shop and he decided he could lay a seam on that gas door....I came out and almost shit myself. I don't know what I'm doing, but I am going slow and trying not to warp stuff...He says "thats why I aint no body man"

Thanks...I told him I would call him to do the C notch. That'll be better for his caveman style.

Heck I would have volunteered mine for the chop if I would have known

Got some new toys this morning. A little 3-in-1 machine and a shrinker/stretcher from Woodward. Though it would be nice if they came with instructions of any kind..

Man...Talked to Alex the other day and bit the bullet today. Ordered up the taildragger kit and air control for the car.

If anybody is interested, I have the Walton Rear Spring kit, complete, has 1200 miles on it. I'll throw in the blocks so your car will sit like mine.:D

Geez, Dave stopped by, he was fairly complimentary overall, but didn't love the sail panel treatment and the bondo that was going to be necessary to make it all look good. I have been feeling the same way, but didn't know what else to do with it. He made a phone call to his buddy Scott Mugford in Sac, and the car is headed up there in the morning to get the sails re-done the right way.
I know when I am beaten! The rest of the work on the pillars and everything worked out well, so I am still pretty proud of what I accomplished. Should have it back this weekend and then I can get the dash prepped and painted and start getting the tail dragger kit installed.

Hehe, well, I didn't want to go that route initially, but I have to C notch it to get it any lower...and if I am going to go through that, I may as well go all the way.

Dropped the car off at Blue Collar Customs today. Scott and the guys are awesome. Looks like I can help them out with some of their diesel trucks too, so it was good all around.
Those guys do some kickass work, so if you are in the area and can check them out, its worth a trip.
Got back to the shop and spent some time this evening stripping the hood so I can get that peaked and cleaned up.

That car has a nice subtle chop. You did good considering that's your first chop and had little to no experience welding shheetmetal. Glad you got it to blu collar for the sail panels good call on the Winfield class too.

Got the hood stripped last night, just a couple of minor dents. Should be an easy fix, then going to work on filling the holes and peaking it with some round rod.

Gonna be little bit. It will either be at Santa Maria or BilletProof 2012 as a runner less interior for sure.

No Problem, Rustem. They are Carter/Webers from Langdon's Stovebolt Engine Company. http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/
Tom has everything you need to make them work. And they do work very nicely

    Alex,
Thanks man! Hope to have it all together in at least a driveable form for the metal workshop
