  5. Impressive!!! That is looking sharp John keep the pictures coming.

  6. Thank guys!

Bulldog, I bet I'd recognize you, there were not many of us at that event lol... That was Bristol Bash in 2000. I just sold the Formula about a year ago... I still plan to drag race a late model again but I have to wait until the ol' lady is calm about the money I'm dropping on this here paint job. :)

Matt, dare I tackle some or all of the glass myself? I'm picking it up without the glass installed.

  7. I don't think the look has changed all that much actually:

Its amazing what a set of taillights, bumpers and paint can do...you have made a Merc mess into a classy Merc custom. Congrats on a job well done.

John when get ready to do the dash let me know. I have a reworked 51
    dash you might like.

  10. HAHAHA John I hope you are kidding or have been drinking all day. Huge difference from the 1980's Golden Arches version you bought origianlly.

You did your homework, had unbelievable patience and have built a beautiful period correct custom....as long as you close your eyes when you get inside:D

    Nice car. Cool thread.

  12. I'll be dash shopping at some point, and I'll definitely check with you thanks.

What exhaust tips would be correct for the look I'm trying to keep?

  13. Just standard chrome tips...Nothing fancy!

  14. Meh, those look wimpy!

Unless you run them through your bumper or your bumper guards, Bad Bob is right, pencil
tips are the choice to be peroid correct....

    Happy Trails, Mick

  16. Hey! You asked what was correct. If you want to run something that "isn't" correct....don't ask! Run some 4" fart cans, hahaha! I don't care....

John, either pencil tips tucked up nice under the bumper, or maybe some 3" echo cans stuck out maybe 2" or so from the bumper if you want something a little tougher looking.

  21. Pencil tips are small narrow tips? I don't know what echo cans look like I will do a search.

Here are some other pics that I took with the wife's point/shoot camera that day:

  28. Ummm when you post pics of Terry Hegman's car in my thread I get a massive inferiority complex. :)

Those tips look okay though I'd like see what echo cans look like.

  30. Well I live on the North side and plan to be quite the poser driving by Wrigley and on Rush Street so I'm sure you'll see me out and about.
