    Wow that paint. Wow.

    Go man go!

  2. Mon-Tues I'll be there to drop off glass, seats, weatherstripping, trial fit one of my '55 Studebaker hubcaps, and of course take a bunch of pictures.

  3. At some point...there will be pictures of the car right? Or,do we just have to settle for your avatar?

  4. I think it will just take three of us to give you a wedgie to remember. :)

Pics early next week. Car will be buffed and the sheetmetal will all be on the car. My bodyguy is at RoadAmerica all weekend with my other car club.

  5. Your body guy needs a wedgie!!!!! And a Melvin,and an Indian burn,and a Brazilian Necktie,and an Arkansas Ass Rocket,and a Texas T-shirt,and a New York Nipple Pinch,and a Pennsilvania Penis Punch!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I have never heard of most of those things, but then again I'm heterosexual. :)

By the way, Matt has been super helpful with everything... I'm using him as an advisor to me and my body guy.

I'm very interested in a full set of the 1951 rear window trim, apparently the upper part has to go on at the same time the glass goes in... Anyone?

  7. There was a guy at Pomona last month with two sets....$50! I didn't have enough cash on me,or I would have bought both sets....

  8. DANG! Anyone got that guy's number?

  9. If he's back there this month,i'll get them for you. One set had some dings, but the other one was perfect! I called Matt, but he wasn't interested.

  10. I'll send you my cell again in case you deleted it because my car didn't exist. :)

I'm calling a Hamber today about a set of '51 trim in a little bit.

I found out on my not chopped 51 that the quarter windows like to crack if they get in the least bit of a bind when you open them. If you are going to run ac I think I would just leave them mounted solid. They do provide a lot of ventilation when open though.

The car is really starting to look good, it will be great to see the photos of the finished product.

  13. Mr48, thanks again for the nice deal on the bumper, I had it rechromed and it looks very nice.

I had a good conversation with Gary S. a Merc Hamber and just sent payment for the rear window trim and the clips. Thanks again!

All I have are the fixed rear windows so I'll just run those for now. I'd love to run vent windows in the front, but I'll use what I have for now and look for the parts to convert it.

I have the windows sorted except the weather stripping I will use for the front vent and rear quarter windows. Does the stuff I posted look like conventional weatherstripping? I won't be able to call around and research until Monday.

I am heterosexual also, and I can guess what Pennsylvania Penis Punch is, but what the heck is a Brazilian Necktie? Just tell me, but please dont show me. (You are one funny dude). Cheers, Nick

  15. Slit your neck and pull your tongue out your throat so it flops on your neck like a tie. I musta watched one too many gangster movies at some point in my life. LOL

  16. Car will be completely buffed by Tuesday, so that's the day I'm gonna go over there and take a bunch of pictures.

  17. It's just like the Mafia used to do. They would cut your throat and pull your tongue out through the slit!!! Come on...you guys know what I mean,LOL....
Those things aren't sex moves...they're assault moves!
    You guys have dirty minds!!!

That's worse than I imagined. I will take a melvin over that any day. Yeah I think it is Sicilian. While were at it, what is a texas tee shirt?

  21. They are the same thing! Brazilians borrowed the technology from the Italians,lol...

    Chopnweld-i've said enough!!! lol...

  22. Hmm. How is the trim for the windshield held on? I forgot to ask Matt.

Bad Bob told me that the windshield trim can be held on with a Brazilian necktie. Sorry couldnt resist, thats the last smart a** comment. Speaking of slddnmatt, here of some pics of what he is doing with my merc. Great guy. And one pic of God's work; san diego sunset in Pacific Beach when we were down there.

  24. Cool we talked about one of the cars he was doing, I'm guessing it's yours.

I loaded up my TBSS and am ready to head over the Mercury tomorrow.

it just pushes into the rubber after the windshield is in the car, then you put the division bar on to cap the centers. did you get everything figured out on the seals???

Cool; I look forward to seeing the pics.

  27. Matt we are not 100% sure on the seals yet for the side window, but to answer your other question, all of the side windows have that lip that you were talking about...

Okay here are my pics, they are not that great I was rushing, dog ate my homework blah blah blah.

  29. Notes:
-I'm not 100% sure what the side window seals are supposed to look like, I'm a little bit of a knucklehead.
-My Studebaker hubcaps pop right on! But only 1 out of 5 doesn't have a ding in it. Right now I'd rather run none until I figure out (a) how to get a few restored and (b) what to do for center sections/medallions.
-I have all the other seals, thank you Doug from Mercuryland.
-We spent time looking at what electric fan will fit, I will order it tomorrow.
    -Car looks AWESOME in person.

  30. OOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! That there is some purty paint! I like the color and while I know you have waited forever to have this thing done, hopefully it was worth it. That looks to be some mighty straight paint right there brother. Congrats!!!
