Thanks everybody. I appreciate it alot, it has been alot of time and work to come this far...and I hope no speeding tickets..I don't want my license taken away I also need a bigger, cleaner garage. Tomorrow's task is to roll it half way and install rear shocks.
Jon...You have come full circle. Clean truck, soooo clean; welds are superb. You deserve the job you landed, thanks for being selective and sticking with the 318. Your Grandpa should be proud working with you. (I'm sure he is) I've enjoyed this thread immensely. (Uh, so have my F100 sons; we ALL have 'em) Your application of the Mopar stuff was done carefully and with solid planning. (I ran a front end shop and had many F100s in to align front ends with welded-in Volare and Diplomat suspensions that were out of the caster window. (poor planning, welded in too far back) Great work, your boss should be proud.
Truck looks good Jon and I'm sure you're proud of it as you should be. The Stude caps add a nice touch as well. When are you going for a test drive?
Hi Jon, Great looking truck and nice job on the build. My brother has a very nice chrome grill for a 60. Let me know if your interested. Keep up the good work, JR P.S. They do drop a little when you toss a motor in... (ha, ha)
Not sure when going for test drive yet..haha I like your truck man. I'll ask around if anyone's looking for that grille. I got one.
Jon---Many others have said it but let me join in - NICE work! You are doing a great job with your truck. You should be proud of your accomplishments. I have been around the hobby for a long time and to see your enthusiasm, and workmanship, at such a young age is refreshing. Keep it up! lc
Hi Jon, You have a nice stance on your truck. Not too low but still has attitude very clean. <O></O> What is your wheel base with the short box? <O></O> Thanks, <O></O> JR<O></O> <O></O> <O></O>
I've just read through your build thread and it's fantastic to see a "future" hot rodder at work. You're doing a great job, my compliments. Keep at it! (and school of course)
Well have not been doing alot with it. Changed out my fuel pump and oil filter. Then mocked up the water pump pulley and fan blade. Making patterns for radiator hoses, might get an alternator later from a buddy. Did some block sanding on the doors and hood...not much else. Trying to get motivated after my Grandpa passing last month.
And the shot(s) of boredom. And a video I did before it came home. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/caJjtkdQKwk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Here's some of what I have been working on. I picked up a one wire alternator from a buddy so I bolted that and my power steering pump on and I don't think anything will have to be modified. Yesterday I took my new transmission floor cover and head and turn signal buckets over and sanded and painted the cover and blasted and painted the buckets. I still have to assemble the buckets so stay tuned..also my floor cover had a rust hole and didn't clear my tranny so I bought one from a 4speed truck which has more of a hump.
Spent the whole day out in the garage. Got the fenders apart after getting old rusty bolts out. Bolted the chrome grille back on and the headlight buckets...looks alot better.
Haven't worked on the ol' pickup since last week. But I'm gonna be getting some headlights from a buddy. So here's a shot of my bike I was working on today...tomorrows plan is to clean up my inner fenders and spray some rubberized undercoating..
