x2. GREAT color. I follow this thread pretty much post by post ever since the master cylinder and steering box. Prior to that, I was checking every so often, but that killed me. I am HOOKED!
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --> Been doing engine stuff so not much to show you, but i did get my generator mounted old style out in the wind. I wanted to use a generator as an alternator looks too new, I had this 55 F100 generaotor laying around and after a quick test to check it was working ok i pulled it apart for cleaning and paint and chrome. Before I did anything i had to mount it so made up some bracketry. I thought the fan looked like it needed a guard on it so made up one, I'm still not sure whether i like it or not so it may get changed or modified. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________
The fan shrowl is fine, you love drilling holes in things don't you.Stainless of course and why not polish it.You must have it down to fine art this polishing by now.The T is going to be one shinny sucker isnt it.
I'm not happy with the fan shroud Tony, the more i look at it the more i dislike it, it looks to heavy looking to me, I'm gonna trim it somewhere maybe trim 1/3rd of it away.
You may not like the comment, but I dig the fan shroud around the generator. I reminds me of an old rotary telephone. Cool. What is the other bracket on the engine for? Coil?
Do you mean the bracket that hasn't been drilled yet ??? If so its the rear mount for the generator, Thanks
Yes i know what you mean Richard, I didn't really want a guard at all but Health & Safety is getting stupid over here in England.
Outstanding stuff all around, Langy - you are certainly stepping things up a notch or two with this build. I've seen your work first hand and know how your attention to detail, no matter how small, is always thought of an enacted out to your theme. You are unreal man, just unreal. I've been following it somewhat on Webshots but just picked it up here - I've got to get across the pond again to make a visit and lend a hand wherever I can! All the best to you and Sue - keep up the great work!
I think he means on the intake. I was wondering the same thing. Great build by the way, if you haven't already been told! I've definitely enjoyed keeping up with it and can't wait to see these components come together on a rolling chassis. Thanks for responding to so many questions as well.
I just found this thread in the deep sea of knowledge, creativity, and talent that is the H.A.M.B. Amazing talent and vision in your build. I only hope to build the patience and skillset you have over the next 80 or so years.
Hey Tom how ya doing mate, I apologise i for not emailing you for a while, I'm just up to my neck in work in the workshop and the parts side of things has taken off big time so spare time is at a minimum Will try and mail you tonight. Take care buddy.
Well I'm only 25, but I may be exaggerating a little bit Does building them in your head all day at work count? If so, I've built hundreds already!
No worries, Langy, I can see you've been busy! I'm glad the parts side is going well - I may have another "parts" possibility for you - PM me and we'll discuss ....
I always build them in my head before i start building for real, Its easy you just need a vivid imagination
