These are the other half of the engine mounts and the Trans mounts, And the engine steady bar. This is how the engine mounts go together, They will be TIG welded through the holes and then dummy rivets put in to cover the holes and give the look that they are rivetted in place.
I guess it is a bit much to ask, but what plans do you have for the roof. I have had a thread titled T COUPE ROOF but got no replies. I have a T coupe that has had the deck removed and will be built as 5 window pickup on 32 style rails but I want to use a full steel roof but got no idea where to start. HELP anybody!
Sorry didn't see your thread otherwise i would of helped, I have a roof made from Ash which is a Tiki style bamboo look, I may not use it yet as i really want a Diamond pleated white roof. Here's some pics of it, hope it helps
Thanks for your roof pic's Steve, but probably not for me. I was hoping to build an all steel roof but just can not get my head around the shape and falls involved, I figured if I was going to do it it should be worth the effort and hence do a nice job of it. Your project T coupe looks alot like the one Mercury Charlie of TX recently sold. Tried to attach a picture of it but I think I screwed up. That was a bit of an Icon and seems your will also become one with that stainless steel chassis, nice work. Russ.
Russ mail me some pics of what you want and maybe i can get you started with some idea's, I have a vivid imagination so i'm told LOL email addy is on my website at bottom.
A bit more progress, The front spring perch and front chassis legs are finish welded and had a light polish. Next it will all be finish welded on the chassis jig.
Questioning why you're bothering!!! I think the results speak for themselves. Keep up the beautiful workmanship.
Workmanship to be proud of. Stainless frame...wow. How the hell did you get a T coupe body in that fine condition?
Had to make a slight modification to the engine mounts, The original method of fixing was to weld down through the holes and cap off with a rivet, this turned out to be a pain so instead the holes have been counterbored and they will now bolt into threaded inserts welded into the frame and then capped off with rivets to complete the look, well off to weld them up now. I'm afraid progress is going to be a bit slow on this project as i'm in the middle of painting my 32 roadster, just working on this when i'm waiting for paint to dry
Steve, Stunning work as ever.I think between your '32 and this ''T'' your goin' to corner the market in FLAKE here in the U.K.!!!!! I think you're gonna have to wear sun glasses, when you open your garage door with that pair in there! Steve, were you a scluptor in a former life, I think you could've been.GREAT work! Nick.
That is some of the most superb welding and fabrication work I've ever seen! Your car will surely go down in history as one of the greats. Years from now, people will be posting photos of that fabrication as an example of how to do it right. I've just bookmarked this thread. When I grow up (I'm now 45), I want to weld like you.
