all i done this time was went to your profile the the folder its in . right clicked on the pic/ copy. then came to this post and pasted it.

if your a perfection show kinda guy. take a razor blade or knife to the oil pan gskt on the front under the timing cover. makes for a cleaner looking instalation.

What is with that big ****y GM distributor? I have your driveshaft as well. The shifter should bolt right on the side of that plate (on the transmission).

I went to a big all Ford show here in Phoenix at least 40% had these HEI's, one reason is K.I.S.S., one wire hookup, good performance curve,no external under the hood clutter, and EZ to find replacement parts..I love mine! Even has a Ford Blue cap!

Sorry but I would burn my car to the ground before I would put something that ugly on it. Ford parts work just fine on Fords. GM junk belongs on GM's.

LoL, yeah its a tad big but like Jeff said it is an easy Install and from what Ive heard from others is pretty much worry free and thats mainly what I'm after. I will give ya a call tomorrow and see when would be a good time to come by and pick up that drive shaft and bring your crate back to ya. Thanks for all the extra parts you have given me I appreciate it alot and if it wasnt for that It would t=be taking me a hell of alot longer to get this thing goin!

No problem Mark. It is a good motor and I am just glad to see someone use it. I noticed a rebuilders tag on the back of one of the heads the other day when we were loading it and forgot to mention it to you.

I was wondering if it had been rebuilt, the inside is very clean and I noticed a 20 stamped on one of the main bearing caps I figured maybe they were ground 20 thousand or something.

The previous owner said it was rebuilt and it ran good for me so I had no reason to doubt it.

Yes that "20" should mean .020 under size . Most engine re-manufacture places do that or rivet a tag on the outside of the block with the crank , rod bearing sizes and the bore of the block . To play it safe I also use a micrometer to see what all was really removed to make sure I get the correct size bearings . Same goes for the bore . Always check the work that someone else did when replacing parts . That way you don't have any problems down the road after all the work of rebuilding an engine !
