I've been wanting to put pictures for a long time on the HAMB of my '29 Victory Six and could never quite get the thing to work. I don't know what worked this time but it has!!!!!!!!! The engine is a 1955 Dodge Kew six / gearbox 3 speed with overdrive / 9" diff / drum brakes all round / '34 Dodge wires. It will be a restorod withall the factory jewellery. She should be on the road at the end of this year.........
Nice Victory 6- like noboD said, they are hard to find! Let me know if you need any parts- might still have a few floating around (Dad's got a '28 Deluxe Coupe').
Very nice piece. I don't recall ever seeing one of these. I also like the engine detail work, although I did notice the steering box is on the wrong side. I guess that's what happens when you're part of the British empire.
Thank you for the nice comments , all I need now is a Victory roadster to complete my garage.............Dodgekew
That ain't a sedan, my friend. It is either a brougham or four passenger coupe, which is WAY cooler and quite rare. Does it have a jump seat for the passenger? And a 3/4 back seat with a giant compartment behind the driver? If it does it's a four pass. coupe, If not it's a brougham, even rarer. Nice find, how about some more pics.
Man what a rare ride, I was never aware of this car line. Really some swoopy lines and the details on the fenders are bad ass. The inline is really gorgeous. Thanx for showin off the rare birds dudes. ~sololobo~
Just an update to say things ARE[happening.............. The car will be painted in the new year..........black. As a resto rod I think black will add some class to the car with all the factory jewellery on her.......
In regard to the Victory, it's frame rails are made of a lighter gauge steel to compensate for the weight of the Budd all-steel body. It became apparent that even minor accidents would total the car due to frame damage. That and they were only made for about 18 months
Mac, could you post a photo of the Victoria from back in the day, my DB book got misplaced. I've always loked that close coupled end in the middle of the rear tire look on a closed car. Bob
The only pics I have of my dad's Deluxe Coupe' are on my phone... will try to find some and post later. I totally agree about the look- like a working man's Hispano Suiza
Thanks '31Dodger for the pics. I'm sure you also know the story of this car. Been in one family since new, these are original colors too. They look hotrodded sitting beside a sedan, low roof, exposed frame, and that short coupled body that '37 described. I JUST missed owning one a few months ago, still not happy about it.
I love how the body drops over the frame- like a factory channel job. Dodgekew- I'm sure you know this, but be careful of rot along the bottom edge of the body. Horrible drainage issues in that area!
31 Dodger, I owe you a "Welcome to the HAMB!" thanks for the three photos above. That is one great looking body design, has a bit of a Stutz look to it, is there any connection to the body designer?
Thank you for the welcome. I do not believe that the Dodge Brothers bodies and Stutz bodies were related.
