here are some pictures of my roadster chassis. it's been along time comming, but i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.it has a built ZZ-430,tremec tko600 5-speed,real halibrand mag. quick change,15x4 mag.sprints,16x13 american "bear claws",drilled i-beam,hand made stainless hairpins, and ladder bars. see what you think of it.let me know if you have any questions. -bruce
Looks great! However, to me, the engine looks out of place. Are you planning to put on some dress-up pieces to make it look more "period correct"?
Stunning craftsmanship, absolutely beautiful work - it will almost be a shame to cover it, but if this is the foundation, I expect the total vehicle will be one that wins all the prizes. Just hope the owner actually drives it and enjoys it more than only at shows.
Great looking chassis! Dig the sway bar setup, along with all your tabs, brackets and mounts. It's pretty clear that everything was very well thought out. I can't wait to see what the rest of the car looks like.
Bruce, What color is that? What are the little notches in the rear crossmember? The chassis is gorgeous. JH
Do you eat off of the floor? Nice looking frame, I would be afraid to drive the car when it's finished....
I for one ... like the engine ... But then ... I may be biased ... I have two of them in 1932 Fords ... #216 and #430 of the only 430 ever built by General Motors. I also have a third one in pieces ... that I will someday put back together Bruce ... your chassis LOOKS GREAT ... and I love all the neat hard lines and details. That 430 will really push a 32 Ford ... and they are not all that rough on fuel. ( mine gets 15 - 17 MPG on the highway ) ... less in town because it feels so good when you mash on it ...
Stunning work. Very tastefully done. I especially like the exhaust. I have the same motor trans combo in a deuce highboy. ZZ430 #267 with tremec TKO 600 and Randy is right it will push your 32 very well. I can run at 80 MPH all day and get 20 MPG. I ended up keeping mine looking "right out of the box" because I run hood sides and don't have it open often. I didn't see a serial number on the valve cover of your motor? Is that one from Sallee Chevrolet?
Harrison I started out with 1939 Ford Gull Gray but when i took the color outside it washed out bad so i had Sean Ornduff (OHR281 on the hamb) add some green to it. Ornduff Hot Rods of Tomball Tx. does our paint work. The notches are to clear the gas tank flange. The tires i have had since they first made them as i brought those wheels over 30years ago. The rear is a Culiver City that i brought about 25 years ago for $75.00.I have some nice parts for the roadster that i have brought over the years 25 louver hood, early hood downs,60's S-W guages . This car may not have a chopped top as i have a nice orginal top , non't know yet. This car will be driven unless someone comes alone and has to have it . I can always drive the roadster pickup. Thanks for asking. Bruce
Beautiful!!! Question.... what rear spring clamps are those? I've been looking for something a little more accurate for my Model A crossmember/spring and those would fit the bill. Very nice work and worth of showing off indeed!
Ditto all the superlatives that have already been said!!!!! I am building my first deuce, also running a quick change, and expect to have a very similar exhaust routing out the back. Do you feel you have sufficient clearance for suspension movement? Thanks
Theres no flys on this chassis seen it in person and thats what you call passion hats off to 32 dude.......Randy
I have been working on it for so long i'm not sure what part that i did, but i did do something like throw hundred dollar bills at it. I then had to part with a nice closed cab and parts for his new pickup. All kidding aside i did make a lot of the brackets, motor mounts rear sway bar mounts weld up the rear end and install rear crossmember but most of the neat stuff was done by the pro. I wonder who taught the pro? Bruce
I think that I have enough clearance because we have ran 3" exaust over the rear end and this is just 2 1/2" Bruce
