Great story!! Knowing the history and keeping it in the family is as good as it gets. Congratulations for bringing it to us to enjoy!
Thanks so much for posting this story and pictures,..... one of the best post's I've read in a long time.
Thanks for sharing, I'll be looking for ya at the Round Up. This kind of story and the history it represents is one of the great things about the HAMB.
Thank You,for sharing your wonderful history. This is what makes the HAMB great. Another fine example, for the "HISTORIC ARCHIVES".
Really neat story. 1932 Ford roadsters are not usually owned by the same family for 40 years. I saw mine in 1969, but did not own it until a few years later. Had it 30 plus years Keep up the good work and thank you for telling the story Randy
neat we had to beg our dad to take us to the strip ... even then it was only a few times .. how cool to have a drag car and "hafta go along "on the weekends
Wow, wow, wow! That's a great story. I know what you mean when you say: "Like being with an old friend." I've had my car over 20 years and before that it was my grandfather's. It ain't no '32 roadster though!
The bed on the truck is from Mack Hils Inc. It's 8" shorter than stock, good heavy ga. metal. I found info on it from eddiesrodshop.com
Thanks for takin' the time to read guys.....it takes a lotta good people to make a good site!! Dad and Mom are both still livin' an' doin' fine. Dad is still doin' the racehorses (arabians). He got trainer of the year in California in '94 or '95. Gotta give shout out to Mom for takin' time to take the pics.
A five star post for sure! Thanks for taking the time and engery to post the photos and story. Very much appreciated. You and your brother need to take a photo now of the two of you sitting on the tires just like the old photo. See ya at the RoundUp
great story and a great car. I think it is great keeping it in the family, and changing the car to suit you. Thanks for sharing.
I was thinkin' that too, Denise. I did one of us on our mini-bikes in the 60's and then our Harleys today, sittin' the same way, and put 'em together in a frame for his birthday. Everybody gets a kick out of the pics. Here's a recent of us with the car: Here's one of me and bro a couple 'o years ago at what's left of the Lakeland Dragstrip. Not a pretty site. Y'all go visit your local drag strips and support 'em when you can. One they're in this shape, they just don't come back. I'm standing on the crosswalk with Dave at the startin' line. I got me a good slab of rubber from the burnout area as a momento.
Here my friends is what the HAMB is all about, Damn fantastic post!!!!!!!!! Stick this in yer O/T post and go float your vintage boats FRITZ
I didn't read much of the story, cuz well frankly, I'm lazy, but the pic sequence was more than enough to grab my attention and feel the need to comment. car's with family history kick ass. congrats on the build.
