  6. In the last few days I've went from totally burned out to super excited. Still a million things to do. My goal was to assemble it so I could finish out the body work and paint it. But now I just want to lay down some tinted sealer and get it road worthy. And deal with paint later. I still have a sedan to three window and five to three window conversion in que. but my shit comes first. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1433032685.489371.jpg .
Thanks for all the support and comments along the way. Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I was debating on reusing my running boards. I was jacking it the car so I could get to the back bolts. Jack slipped and folded it up. So now I guess I'll be making new ones after all.

I love what you have done to this point. I have always thought if I was to build a car with running boards, I would bead them to look similar to the cover. Don't like the smooth street rod ones, and would hate to try to keep those white covered ones clean.

  14. The truck ones are Like that. I'm going to stick with the rubber. I Tend to be pretty hard on my cars. So it's just more practical

What are you talking about, it is billet!. But it is hand made, just not CNC'd! Nice job, great lines on the drop and the turn indicator, if you polish them people will want to know where to buy them. I say paint them and they will be period correct for the 36 that it is.
I'm enjoying your thread and you are doing a really great job of the reconstruct.
Best regards and good luck with all your endeavors, KB.

  21. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1435955483.231114.jpg so I took my garage air-conditioner that I found in the garbage and traded for a crate motor with about 1000 miles on it. I could definitely use the AC right now but hey couldn't pass that up.

How were you able to keep a straight face on that trade?

That was pretty easy. I work outside. So the heat doesn't really bother me. It was more in my way than anything. That unit retails for $3200. I got it for free. So to get a motor saves me at least a $1000. My other motor needed a full overhaul. So definitely a win.

Good for you, I like it when things like this work out. Now I have to go and cruise the alleys.

I am glad to see your steering setup doesn't look too different from what I came up with on my model A! I added a rod end that the center section of the steering shaft rides through. The rod end is held in place by a hollow bar that I welded to the frame on the perfect spot to clear everything. Yours looks great!
