Anot of you 36 owners had this kida fit proulpm when usein a griffin rad . as you can see from the pics the hood ord will not fit rite , the folks over at griffin are working with me on it but the more info i can give them the better.Look close at the pics you can see the proulpm.
36 front sheetmetal is hard enough to fit up without throwing that into the mix. See if grffin will take it back and buy a walker. They all take some tweaking but at least you won't be married to a radiator that WILL leak.
Hi richbud, are you using an original Henry Ford grill? If so, that should be the foundation to work from, so long as the car has not had a hit and bad repair. Add to it a chinese or Korean repo chrome grill ornament (probably not a perfect fit any way) and add a custom alloy radiator (obviously not a good fit) and here is the problem. Bolt your ornament to your grill and use that as the guide as to where to top of the radiator should be with the all important rear mount on the ornament. I've fitted up the genuine '36 front sheetmetal and all it's ***ociated parts numerous times and it is always a time consuming and tricky exercise at the best of times to get everything to function correctly and have pleasing panel gaps.Make a wooden buck or steel jig to bolt to the grill to show where the top, rear mount goes on the chrome grill ornament. Everything is centered on that mark. I would be talking with Griffen, but make sure your car is square and right first..Good luck, H.R.D. P.S. Caseycustoms, some people are challenged on certain issues,so let it go man, switch your siren off and lets concentrate on the grill and radiator issues that richbud has raised on his post..
I have not had a 36 since 1975, so I don't know how the radiator is mounted. It looks way too high in the middle pic...is there a way to lower it somehow?
