Sweet ride how can you not like a big tire round body car, i lovewd them so much im building one of my own great job mine has a 415 SB AFR headed chevy in it
that one is pretty cool because it does look like a sleeper, and the paint job is muted. If you had skirts you wouldn't even notice the rear tires. I like the stance..
The cars in mock up now and no its not painted lol its sealer lol and it will have an older theme to the car E/T dragmaster wheels etc and a big inch small block with a 3,500 stahl and 4.56 gears
[ quote=tattooedup37]Didn't mean to offend!! But if you put a car up here and ask for opinions (on a mainly traditional rodders forum) You should know what kind of reaction you are gonna get. I think it is a good lookin' car in its own way but personally I would have dug that car w/ fender skirts hiding the big *** tires and muffle it down and make a real sleeper/cruiser sittin' about 3in off the ground just my 15 cents
yeah! that way it could look like all the other mercs out there. then it could be boring and really ****.
Let me get this right fender skirts and Big *** tires no thanks and the car unlike most on here will not stay in primer and will not be a so called RAT Rod" it will although have an older theme to the car even going to run an orginal green color that seems real popular now on a super smooth car and no dont let the wheels fool you there just for mock up heres a build journal to fill youin on the build as for skirts love um not on this car besides with 562 HP and might not stay on real well lol Later http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/journal.php?journalid=50465&action=view
here ya go buddy.. circa 1951 . I was guess I could paint it with aqua and turquoise graphics and cover the seats in grey tweed.......but nah! besides I was giving you a compliment. I said I like the stance and it looks like a cool sleeper. Those build shots are cool too. Its going to be bad *** when its done.
Man I hate it when this happens,as long as you liked it ,thats all that really matters.I feel your pain, and everyone else's
sorry no problem cool ride how fast is to fast in a car that weight wow and what Does it weight ?????? besides I was giving you a compliment. I said I like the stance and it looks like a cool sleeper.
yeah! that way it could look like all the other mercs out there. then it could be boring and really ****.
Hey hotrodhenry! You need to read the post a LIL' closer my friend. I said it is a good lookin' car BUT PERSONALLY. (that is a key word here bud)
sorry to say it guys, but 49 mercs are the camaro of the custom world. There are a million of them out there, most with similar build themes, and all, if you put them side by side, with the exception of a few, would look really similar. I like the different theme. Pro-street chevys, fords and dodges are everywhere, byt when's the last time you saw a merc with fat n' skinnys and a full drag ch***is?
Jack that front end up, some 12 spokes and a set of cheater slicks w/wheel well headers and ya got something!! I love when a car just pisses everyone off!! Anarchy!!
Chopped custom "traditional" mercs are really beautiful, but most show very little originality and are getting so plentiful that they're getting almost boring. I probably wouldn't do what was done to this one, but I like the fact that it shakes things up in the ranks of the die hard Merc guys. This is almost as bad as putting the wrong valve cover bolts on a corvette!
pro streeting a big car is kinda pointless. i mean, wont it be disappointing when a vega or something with a mildly built smallblock blows the doors off of your BBC? why build such a heavy car into a street racer? i know you didnt build it, but why?
Yet again, you must not have read any of the posts.I will expalin it again for you.The only thing merc about that car is the roof and the doors, and they are just skins.EVERYTHING else is fibergl***.Im not gonna give out the official weight, but it is light. And being that when I owned the car,I raced it on the street,I wanted people to think it was big and heavy, that way they would race the car. Let me do the math for you......... more race=more money EVIL
At times it was fun to drive. Most of the time it wasnt. In the summer it was like riding in an oven, and in the winter a freezer. The only time it was fun was when you were gettin ready to do your burn out, during the burn out, sitin at the start line on the trans brake, lettin lose of the trans break and the 250 shot of nitrous engageing, coming out of the hole like being fired out of a cannon, crossin the line at the other end and collecting your winnings.Driving frome here to there was a pain.
