i'm retired and decided i needed something to keep me busy.. i picked up this '50 chevy coupe and plan on installing a 350/700R4 .. last night i bought a good running '87 chevy van with the 350/700R4, PS, PB, PW, cruise control for $400.. plans are to strip it out for all the goodies..
Welcome! That's a nice looking car! I'd have used the $400 for proper wheels and tires and kept the stovebolt.
I agree! I would have kept the six in it. I love these early Chevy's and it looks like you have a beautiful one.
One fng to another, just finnished putting a 400sb and 700r4 in my 53 chevy. You'll love how it drives. Great looking car. good luck
Yes.. chuck the 6 banger... I did and I can understand why you're doing it. Yes, it's a nice time piece... but for a whole lot more fun and a little bit of effort.. you're going to have something you enjoy a whole lot more. Keep it up.. nice project!
Damn nice car!!! Welcome to the hamb. Keep us posted on your retirement project!!! Looks like you have a good plan a nd a great start! I actually like the chrome steelies and baby moons. Congrats and enjoy your retirement...CHEERS. By the way gsport, you might want to take a minute and do an intro...it can get a little rough around here if you don't.
Glad you blew the pic up from your ChevyTalk.Org avatar. Having just finished this swap, on our 51 Bus Coupe, if you have any questions, just ask. Butch/56sedandelivery.
