    ok, so this years resolution is to to get my F100 road worthy and dependable. I have a few other projects and this one has been on the back burner, but I recently got a lot better paying job and the extra money that I will have coming in is going to be going into her. Also, Im 23 years old...

    Her name is Francis. It was bought by my father in 1991 (year I was born) as a bone stock, nothing special, barney purple, f100. My father had big plans and we pursued those plans. I can remember being outside every night helping him work on it. It currently has;

    1. Chevy 350 with a mild cam and eldelbrock carb
    2. 9" rear
    3. Cadillac full tilt steering Colum
    4. turbo 350 Tran with shift kit
    5. Coil suspension kit off a Lebaron... I think
    And a whole lot more im finding

    About 7 years ago my father got it painted at a local automotive paint shop. Well, that was a mistake. The guy really messed it up and the paint cracked and peeled on every panel within 1 week. The paint insisted that it was our fault and he didn't have anything to do with the poor quality. My father was completely ashamed of the paint and the amount of money he had spent. He parked the truck in the back yard and forgot about it. I went to college and the truck continued to sit.

    Well I moved back home and in the summer of 2014 My dad decided to sell the truck. This truck is my childhood on 4 wheels and Im not letting that happen. So, He gave me the son discount and the truck is now mine!!

    Now the paint is completely shot and unsavable, but I don't care. Im going to work on it as much as possible and im going to enjoy this truck. Ive started hanging out with some awesome car guys like fordf1trucknut , travj31 ,****** , and more. Ive learned a lot!

    So I made my own base board by using the old ones as a template.

    Can't see the bad paint in the picture! Great looking truck from here. I especially like the 56 grill it seems to add a lot to the look. Ralphie

    Thank you! I'm pretty good at getting the right angles to trick the camera into not seeing the*****py paint.

    The 56 grill is definitely my favorite.

    When I was 23 (in 1979), I bought a '53 F-100 that had a Chevy 327 and Turbo 400.

    I loved my truck. I sold it in 1992 to a good friend and have been trying to buy it back ever since. He has promised me if he ever decides to sell it, he will call me first.

    Have fun and never sell it!

    Biggest thing you need to do is drive the wheels off of that thing this summer!

    I had a 56 that had wheels very similar to yours. Two were U.S. Indys and two had no identifying
    markings. I still have the wheels , but not the truck. It was an great truck and my only vehicle
    at the time. I did haul many loads of shrimp from my boat to the buyers with it. People seemed to enjoy
    seeing the 56 being used as an actual work truck. This was in the early 80s

    IMG_20150513_47563.jpg Hey guys. It's been a while. Went to school, got a big boy job, work like crazy. But the truck has always been on my mind. I'm a train conductor for CSX now, so much is actually going into the truck!

    I put about 600 in motor clean up and making sure everything was good under the hood. Here's a couple pictures

    New covers, filter, hoses, new distributor, plugs, wires, coil, high temp paint, and just a good scrubbing.

    I'm loving the new look.

    After that I put on a new gas tank, sending unit, and fuel lines IMG_20150513_42804.jpg

    I got a bunch more stuff too. Like these gadgets;
    IMG_20150513_54200.jpg

    And even some bed chains and new tires! IMG_20150513_14301.jpg
    IMG_20150513_30942.jpg

    New rims will be arriving next week! IMG_20150513_3793.jpg

    Got a bunch of little things done too like interior complete with radio and speakers.

    Also I'm selling the slots off of it as well. If you're interested, search "15 inch slots" on pittsburgh craigslist.

    We'll that all for now. I leave you with a picture of my house/bedroom/dresser/life now...

    Nice little F-100...I got with the local F-100 club in my town a few years ago and built and drove this one. 301 chevy, 350 turbo, 9 inch and a camaro subframe. Was an excellent driver and next time you feel bad about your paint, think of this photo...........guy I sold it to painted it resale red. rockys53ford.jpg

    Hey Guys! Well, I've Done what I've set out to do. Enjoy the Truck! Almost 800 miles in a month. She's reliable, Fun, and an attention getter. Just a little rough haha but I don't care. I took Some pictures, went to a few shows and even drove to work a few times. The new tires work great. I put some bed art in the back. (A motorcycle I built from the ground up when I was 18 ) heres some pictures. Let me know what you think. 20150529_145234-01hg.jpg 20150601_171758-01.jpeg 20150529_205950-01.jpeg 20150529_095217-01.jpeg 20150529_145302-01.jpeg IMG_20150524_192647.jpg 20150601_171758-02.jpeg 20150529_174507-01.jpeg 20150601_171813-01.jpeg
