My '56 Plymouth wagon is progressing right along! Larry will have it for a few more weeks, finishing up the body work and shooting the epoxy primer/sealer. That will get me by for about a year or so, when I can afford to apply paint to the (soon-to-be) smooooth body! This is getting a '69 440 Dodge engine, automatic, and 8-3/4" rear from a '66 B-body. Haven't got much of a plan yet on the interior - I'm still tossing ideas around there. F For the time being, the top will be black and the area below the window moldings will be dark green. Something a little different, until I figure out a final color scheme. Can't wait to get this one home again!
Looking good.. You may have to Cut the Firewall and raise the center hump for the Big Block.. and*******. or have you done that already?
It had a '66 Poly 318 and auto in it before I got it and it fit well. Dimensionally, the 440 is very close, but I won't know for sure if I'll have to do some creative modifications on the firewall until I get the****embly in the car. It has a '73 Firebird front clip under it, and the 318 was bolted in, so I don't foresee any big issues with the 440 install.
Making up for lost time while you're off? May as well, man... beats sitting around between job interviews! You should sell that poly on the Yahoo Group or on here, or trade it! ~Jason
The Poly stayed with the PO, I had no need for it. Had I not had the 440 sitting in my shop,****embled and ready to install, I would have kept the 318 in the wagon and just driven it that way.
Here it is!!! Home from Missouri, where fellow HAMBer Larry did a lot of work on the body and did a super job on the semi-gloss green and semi-flat white top! Decided not to go with black on the top, since I live where A/C is a must (I don't care what anyone says - my cars need A/C!) and there is no immediate plans for air right now.
