this is one of those trucks that a guy is best to just let it be..talk about upening a can of worms...getting it lowered is gonna be a major process... I got the seat over getting restored.... new foam and covered... 1000 bucks....WTF... might need to go back in the upholstery business...

Just about a rust free truck, nice. Those 2 barrel SBF's were so understressed, they'd run almost forever.

Well, none of the gauges work,... so that was my project goal...oil pressure was easy...new copper line and done....gas gauge.... kinda easy... cleaned up the wire connectors...and the wire to the sending unit...temp gauge... PITA...got it to work I think...I barely goes off the cold though.... so Thougt maybe the sending unit on the 302 doesn't match the gauge???? so I ordered a 1959 stock one.... we'll see...now here where the work started.... the amp gauge..how I fix them is take them out and put a volt meter.... but... I wanna know why it don't work...that and they are wired in series... some time you un hook them and some thing else stops working.... like charging the battery..so first thing... load test battery with it running...14 volts....next... try to get to the back side of the gauge.....rigatony wire mess under the dash... and elect tape wrapped... so finally made room to get to test gauge.... no volt either side... checked with it off, key on, and key on running...... nothing..so after about 4 hours of cutting tape I find the end of the wire...hooked to nothing.....WTF....I could have just un hooked the gauge.... the other wire went to a multi spade plug.... got no idea to what.... I have a china speedway volt meter gauge in the cabinet....black face...so easy peasy...right???? wrong...the gauge was a hare too big to fit the hole.... soooo.... now I need to file the hole to fit the new gauge,,,can't use my right arm for much yet and too dangerous for a power tool with my left...so spent about 30 min. try'n to file it by hand left handed..the dash piece is stainless to add to the shit show....so new gauge in.. one wire to key on power... and one to ground... start it up.... hell yeah... shows 14 volts.... so now ... all my gauges work...proud great grandpa right now... so unlike most here... I had to wait for my grand kids to have kids to be great..
