Very cool looking ride there Rob ... is the Woody gone?

  2. The Elcos and delieveries shared most of the low end stuff. It's been awhile since I've seen a delivery, always liked them less common then the Elco (which I have) and even better that it's a '60.

  3. Nope , still have the Wood box... its sitting idle ...

It looks good, I remember getting hung up on those blasted fender blades back in the 60s and 70s though. They can get you even when under a fender cover.

  6. Thanks B , Mike is pretty happy it's getting the attention it needed... hasn't asked for the keys back yet... LOL Cheers !

  7. yep I do it all the time. I just need to quite hitting my knee when getting in & out of it... OUCH !

  8. so I received my Retrosound Hermosa series radio today... interesting set up how the whole things comes together.. on my list of things to get done now... anyone else installed these radios...

  9. round three, time to make the SD stop a bit better... brakes just suck... Having local Hot Rod shop look into converting the 60 to power brakes if to see what modification needs to be done.... Going to have some measurements taken for booster and master cyl... it already has a 79 Camaro clip... dual circuit master and front discs... New KYB gas shocks... complete brakes.. (way overboard) but I want it all new front to back... Lokar kick down for the auto trans( not hooked up now ) .... new interior threads on the back burner... want the mechanicals right.

  10. power booster and mc off 75-75 nova or 70-81 camaro will work.

  11. Good to know, the wiper motor is really close.. Will keep ya posted.

  12. , The wiper motor may be the problem... Will see what the shop has to say if it's not a lot if work. I'll due the power brake up grade... it really could use it...It's one Heavy Chevy for sure.. with just a manual dual circuit master and front discs and rear drums ... the brakes aren't great..

Car sitting at the shop, getting brakes and shocks done... going to see how it stops after it's completed.
Lokar Autotrans Kick down it hooked up... Think I might go with the CCP , booster kit that they sell ... moves the power brake assy over 2" and up 1" pending on how it drives.... hmm big block ? ( just kidding) Happy Thanksgiving to the HAMB !

  15. Just wondering what other folks experience has been like with CPP ... ordered the booster from them...

  16. nice service from CPP on the booster... had it sent 2nd day air... dropped it off at the shop today... so it will need some new brake lines bent up front... adding some Edelbrock valve covers to brighten up the engine bay some

  18. I have a question for 59-60 Chevy guys... pretty sure the heater core took a crap on my 60 yesterday ( inside passenger side of windshield steaming up) . I haven't got my head up under and to take a good look.. Being this is a bottom liner car has only Defrost and Fan... I noticed one lever is broken.. good luck finding these heater controls.. I see a lot of the deluxe heater control on a certain auction site... what is the interchange on the heater controls... Thanks

Not sure about a 60, but on my 62 the heater core also took a crap. Nomatter where I looked, the replacement was EXPENSIVE. We deal a lot with NAPA at work and get along with them real well. I brought them my ols core and they were able to match it up with one MUCH cheaper! The application (if I remember correctly) was for a 68 Camaro without AC but with a 396, had to be 396 as the rest were different. I think it was in the 45 dollar range.

  22. I found some replacement heater cores on Ebay, $295.00... but not sure if my car has the heater valve style set up like a Impala, Bel-Air or others like Kingswood or Nomad... Need to peak up there... They show a o-ring between the core and heater valves on the deluxe heater.. Just not sure if that's what I have... My controls are only Fan speed and Defrost... two levers that's it... and one is broken also... need to either put deluxe heater control in if it works.. or try a fix... I don't have any fan speed. I need to check the fuse contacts and fuse ( common corrosion on the fuse contacts maybe.. ) looks for the resistor also..

The poverty, or recirculating heater sounds like what you have. It has a flat plate on the firewall. The controls can be had on eBay, but the heater core is unobtanium. The heater core that is available new is for the deluxe heater.

  24. you are correct... been looking for the base model heater controls with no luck so far... Will the deluxe controls work if I only hook up the fan and defrost ? I guess the core is going to get a rebuilt sounds like..

The deluxe heater control will work fine. The electrical switch screws on, and the levers are the same. Many of the controls are bent or broken on the back so look at the pictures carefully. Lube your cable well while your at it.

  26. Thanks, wondering if maybe I remove a lever and be ok... and fix my recirculating heater control assy..

IF you take the old heater core out and bring it to a GOOD NAPA with GOOD guys. they can measure it and look it up based on that. When I was looking for mine it seemed that a lot of older chevys had the same sised core it was just the outlets tht were different. Might be a hell of a lot cheaper way to go.

  30. I did read that in your earlier post... good idea..
