Wow, I havent seen this thread before and I thought it was going to be a flaming of some newbie building a hillbilly enginered waste.

Thank god I am wrong. That thing is actually really cool! Definitely something different.

  5. Great progress. We look forward to seeing it in primer and then in paint!

I have heard (during a tour of Moal's Coachworks in Oakland) that you can actually get real glass custom curved windshields done -- only problem is that they cost $5k -- but then they give you three so you have spares.

here is a pic of cut down windsheild # 1, I glued in 3 wood blocks and made 2 cross bars to hold the glass together so We can make a plexy one, the 1st effort by Zap and Myself was to ruin a $75 chunk of plexy, followed by the words SH%#@!T, We will now buy the right kind of plastic, the other pic shows the rear qrters getting the finnal prep before filler and primer. doc , i love this project, and your work! but seing as though your going with a lexan windshield, and you can make it any way you want, would you consider giving it a mild chop before you make your final windshield?? i rarely add my .02 unless asked, i just think it would look so much meaner. hope you dont mind buddy!! iether way it will look unreal.. dave

Brings to mind the 57 Ford Ranchero featured in alot of the old car mags that got a serious shortening job. It was on many a cover. Also,in a small pictorial Model Car Magazine in 1961 a "Girl" built a great 60 Camino model shortened very much like this one that is pictured here in this thread. Her picture was in the mag holding it. Any body remember that?

Until I get to the grill, that is. I see a lot of work, but it doesn't do justice the rest of the concept. How I see it.

Great build, this is the first time I stumbled on it. It shows that you can take someone elses parts car an build a knockout and different rig out of it.

I do think I would have gone with a nose treatment similar to what Jigger drew and what you mentioned in your early posts. More on like in keeping it all 60 Elkie. I understand where you are coming from though.

More progress from inside the lab. Oh and about chopping it a lil, well if I did that I wouldn't fit in the car, as My head is almost touchin the roof now, and about the nose I think everybody should wait tell it's in paint and then look again, after all Gene Winfeild and Larry Watson love it, as a matter of fact I ate lunch with both of them Wedsday.
