My 60 Jimmillac

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cadillacin Marcus, Dec 21, 2003.

  1. For those who know me I have been working on a 1960 Cad 331 Powered Jimmy forever now and finally it will get closer to being completed. After my brothers T- Bird is done this week,I will be taking the Jimmy over to my friends to get the treatment.Maybe someone on here still has the Ito rendering of the truck on file,I dont have it in my computer any longer.I won't be making fins for it but the paint scheme will be the same.

I've got Ito's rendering still saved as a Wallpaper, but it's 309Kb. Could email it to ya, but not post it. I thought both major components motor/truck had been sold? Old dreams die hard, good luck on continuing the dream...

It's still gettin the T-bird Poncho nose, right? That Rocks! Didn't those fins come from a brainstorming session, right here?

  10. yeah i want to get the front end looking like that rendering for sure..its a stock GMC grill flipped and like you said 55 Pontiac bunpers with a tube insert...period perfect from the mind of Mr Ito himself. The fins I believe did come from a session on this board way back in 2000 or early 2001! I've had the truck for what will be 10 years this January..It was my dailt until I started this project from hell in 97.

Marcus I used to own the bodyshop across from Dons place I worked a few of his cars. I also remember going to Big Daddys and the bait shop where the 7 11 is now...

  20. Well then you would have known my uncle Mike and Janice Smith of smiths furniture in Niles too.Man I almost forgot about that old bait shop!! Geez! and if i remember right there was a gas station next to Big Daddy's as well as super saver 7 or something.

I think Travis had an ElCamino he cut up, but He probably got rid of the bed area. If you can't get the right bumpers, try Old Datsun truck rear ones, they are split but smaller. Jimmillac needs fins.

More food for thought about split bumper. Check the rear of a 60 Buick. Rear bumper is a lower pan and split upper "bars." If you find some, SEND THEM TO ME AND GO GET YOUR OWN!!! [IMG]

What kind of truck is it now? Or is it even a truck? just curious. I have a few 64-66 chevy trucks but I think the hoods are both messed up a little. I'd like to have one of those gmc grills tho.
