my 65 fairlane a/fx straight axle build

Love it!! I can't wait to get started on my 61 Comet with a 410 merc

 

I know I'm doing red interior . I can't make my mind up between red black silver or many even white . I kinda like the silver tho.

 

Something along these lines, dosent the silver and red look great together.

 

I bought some a100 seats like in the picture above for fifty bucks I'm gonna have them recoverd to look like the ones in the pictures above.

Wayne;I vote for Silver with Red interior!!Too many White cars and the Silver exterior will "POP"!! ROY.

 

Hey Roy did u see the 64 comet they built on spike tv muscle car show

 

Wayne;YES,I saw it,tried to follow the build but the way those shows jump around it is hard to keep up!!!! I was not crazy about the "modern" engine or the paint job!! I could have adjusted to the newer engine but the paint job was too busy and did not go with the car!!! Was KOOL to see them do something different,not main stream!!! ROY.

 

Yeah the paint job was far from period correct

 

Wayne,I vote for the Silver&Red too! It'll look awesome,and give you color options if you do a rear steel wheel too.Plus the rollbar color.
My Comet has a lipstick red interior.And you will not be dissapointed!

Thanks guys and I was wondering what color to paint the roll bars too .I wanted to paint the trunk silver like the the exterior but I kinda wanted to have the bars red like the interior what do yall think I should do. Just paint um black ? Oh yeah what do yall think about red plexi glass Windows ,I'm gonna keep the clear glass windshield tho.

 

Wayne;I think the roll bar red with red interior and red windows may be a bit too much red!Maybe paint the roll bar body color,red seats and red windows!!I like the trunk painted body color,looks finished that way.JMO,ROY.

 

That's the problem I'm gonna paint the trunk silver but the bars come back into the trunk and I thought red bars going down to the silver trunk would look crazy maby its just me .

 

Wayne;I like the red and silver combo,was just thinking that all that red would be a bit much! I had a friend that did a red on red 65 Comet,they had a bear of a time getting the two reds the same and not clash!!But,like I always say,it is your car,build it to suit you!!!! ROY.

 

The red Windows was just an idea .I was concerned about what to paint the bars

 

This is looking great Wayne love it, as for the colours i think too much red maybe too much, The bars in silver would look great and i think the red windows would be a masterstroke.

Yeah it is finally . do u think 6000 is too much for paint . I figured it was about rite for a nice solid color paint job
