heres the progress to date. building bomber seats this week, then a bit of wiring, handbrake, and thats about it..then the biggest hurdle, getting it registered.
could someone photoshop the grille shell to match the paint?not sure wether to paint or nickle plate it.still have to build the bottom piece of it too. thanks in advance.
I have to eat crow, the car looks the part a nice traditional looking hot rod , good luck with the rego.
Thanks everyone, I think i like the painted grille (thankyou CG, appreciate it!) oh yeh windscreen is the other thing!i knew there was something else.two piece V windshield,no frame along the top of the gl***,**** ive still got a bit to do when i think about it... Crow? were you doubting me spark you worry too much.have faith in the universe and you will breeze through reg brandy brandy brandy.whats up girl?
Looking good Squire of lowness, will be good to see it in person on a couple of weeks! Geoff aka whodaky
You know me, pissin in people's corn flakes............WHO"S HUNGRY?! I think the dark color detracts from the body line on the top of the cowl and around the body. Blends everything in................so here's MY 2 & 3/4 cents
i think i'll p*** on the urine flavored breakfast, but i do agree that the lady has a point... it really makes the lines stand out and its a hell of a lot different then the same ol same ol... *****in
Thanks for the preview Ben. Looks good but somehow also lost something under that paint. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) it at the picnic. Your ride inspired a lot of what I'm doing with mine so hurry up so I can see what sort of windscreen I'm gunna have. Good progress! Pete
I see your point on the body lines disapearing, but honestly it doesnt do that in real life. The satin paint actually makes them stand out more..no reflections to distract the eye. That said i quite like Brandys treatment..but i love how she treats me anyways see you all at the picnic, anyones welcome to give her a blast around the grounds, that was the funnest part last year, and this year ill actually have a fan and a generator! yeh the split bones might be an issue..striper said hes managed to convince an engineer to sign off on them,i hope this is the case...stupid ****ing rule. yeh it has lost a lot of character getting painted, but i figure it had a year like that, and was well seen/do***ented (5 different mags had pics of it) and no way in hell would i get full reg with a rusty multicoloured car.....even though chicks dig it
I like that yellow rod in the background of the last picture, big 'n' littles, s***y yellow color. Looks like a goer....
Pretty cool Mate! Is that a '58 buick dash pod? or Pont? I hear Reg. is a ****** in your country. good luck. Sparkee
The body lines are still there in person trust me...thing looks damn good and better than last year even IMHO. Ben your Timber bits are painted...just need one more coat of black on the bottoms of them...Pick them up on sat? (party) Or ill run them out later in the week or whenever you need them. Cheers. Maiki PS> Ill take her for another spin this time with licence and sober..hehe
That's funny. I use satin paints to HIDE characteristics and blemishes on my cars. Do what floats your tuna barge, when you get desperate and sell it to ME, I will just add my whimsical dash of cream. I still love the damn thing and think it's one of the best rpu's I've ever seen. I could treat you worse. **x
Hey crew, I love the new paint. Whilst last years finish was fun and full of character, the new paint takes the ride to a more subtle and sophisticated level. I agree with brandy, you loose some of the body lines but you make up for it in sleekness and a sense of style that makes Swedish Ikea designers look like finger painting midgets on a toureetes only jerry springer special. I too will be there this year with license and sobriety. Well maybe not the sobriety but definitely a license. a license to thrill the ladies with my duals and heads and bad boy demeanour. mmm... demeanour. Ciao. Danny
please do Brandy, im a bad hot rodder. must also offer thanks-a-plenty to Maiki, sicko boi and the nooch for all their invaluable help...I can do most things by myself, but lifting the body on and off numerous times aint one of them. dan, zac, internet chicks are wak.sat night proved it.trippers.
Nice work Ben looks ace, great work !! Stance is primo man. When are you goin for the rego thang ?? Rat
Hey L'Squire, How funny was that! Paulie looked violated ahaha. ALmost as violated as those mod chics were by my dancing! Man I got my beat generation Freaky on and it made me feel funny in my scooter. How was the swap? Dan
